As I said Saab engines can't use the original plugs. I think as long as the plug resistance is the same as the original GM plugs it should be fine.

I've never heard of this ion sence and is a new concept to me I've done a bit of reading about it So please correct me if I'm wrong Is this in the coil pack And is it only used as a knock sensor on our engines? Does this cut spark when it is triggered ?? And could this be linked to the so called soft limiters which some have thought they have had As I don't have the issue on the standard spark plugs does this sound as if it was the old plugs with a issue or past there best ( Ngk7E ) due to the resistance feeding back to the coil pack ?

I had stuttering/misfire for ages up the top end, gaping the plugs down to .7 fixed the problem

Standard is about 1 or .9mm

Peter also recommended this, said he'd seen it with a lot of high boosted and Harroped SCd' cars

at high rpm there comes a point where the coils charge time is limited, this can be made worse if igntion timing is late as well. what is the dwell time set to?

will keep this in mind, but you should not  gap the iridium plugs but believe they do not require the same amount of voltage to jump the gap.

im still hoping its the plugs that caused my issue and not the coil pack but the signs look promising and will be giving it a good run next week to double check

BKR8EIX IX plugs should be .8mm gap but will double check them before they go in

What make of plugs were the ones you gapped?

I think Matt said he used whatever the standard Saab turbo plugs. Will need to have a look, but don't hold your breath as the cars been undercover since last year :D

Are these not a bit "cold"? (heatrange 8)

Original is range 6, you tried BKR7E's (gapped to 0.8mm?) and now you want range 8 in?

Was thinking about the performance of the OEM wasted spark system on higher revs (dwell) but I think that should be no problem. The GM LSJ has 4 seperate coil-on-plugs.

was told to go up one heat range (colder ) per 100 hp over stock originals are 6s at 200 hp ish so went up two heat ranges as its better to be to cold rather than to hot

the 7s looked like they were running a touch hot

So a bit more background to this. When I first went Dutch it was with the standard stage 2 setup. Even then at higher rpm/load I'd get misfire and stutter. As soon as I swapped back to CS map it was fine. Did this multiple times and same results. This was on whatever plugs CS recommended. I never solved it and upgraded to Harrop and Saab head with stg2 cams and was still there. Was only after a Zandvoort trip I met Peter and he mentioned gapping down the plugs. Boom problem solved.

chinky chinky

2.6 pulley wow thats super small have seen much gain over 2.9 and have you managed to control temps

would be good to get to find optimum pulley size for one of runs and track use with and without water injection
