Can you think about increasing them, with wheel arch extensions to make it a worth while increase? An extra 6 CM each side would make it much more planted for sure. Also, moving up a wheel size to 18" and using 30% profile tyres would give you a slightly greater contact patch and less tyre wall deformation, meaning you can run slightly lower pressures for even more grip whilst retaining near OEM wishbone angles. I often drop to around 23 or 24 PSI (cold) for low/mid speed stuff, gives more grip and I don't notice any adverse effects.

It could be many things. Camber, tyre pressures, Driver, tyres. To name a few. I certainly wouldn't go bolting on big wheels and arches just yet.

Down pipe is welded up but all the Packing I put in before croft is almost completely gone So I will have to put back in some of the wire wool which was originally used to keep the packing in And as for sound it will be what it will be And considering I only ever had a issue at Bedford I think I should of left it alone as it was

Put about 50% of the original wire wool back in to the exhaust ( there was a lot before )

Posted Image

And then covered that with some more wadding

Posted Image

This exhaust is now going to be welded up and forgot about until I get kicked of a track, ( never going back to Bedford )

I do wish I hadent even opened this exhaust up

Is Bedford worth the pain of getting a quiet exhaust? Often wondered. Mine measured 98db at Croft. What was yours? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

At croft mine never got tested 😳 Maybe because they tested me three times the year before Lol Mine has been tested at static at around 95 Db but at Bedford the static was 99Db The biggest issue with Bedford is the drive by The sensors are quite close to the track and it's quite open area and also think it could be wind dependant

Lol I think this exhaust was quieter without that Db reducer you had at Bedford when you got a New Bedford high reading record

Maybe the water injection will also help the wadding stay intact due to cooler temps

I think you'll find even higher EGT with WI

Yes.

WI will increase the charge density which means more fuel to maintain lambda therefore greater heat.

i was planning on getting the AFR between 12 - 12.6  and using water injection but will experiment more with this stuff after zandvoort

Yes.

Not that I don't believe you ...

Lets assume 300HP, which means about 250 gr air per sec. WI at 10 liters per hour (got this from some WI calculators, but seems low). Specific heat of water 4.2 KJ/kgK, of air 1.0 KJ/kgK. Latent heat 2265 KJ/kg for water. You inject 2.8 ml/sec which is about the same in grams. And you have to cool 250 grams of air with that. Heating the water from 20C to 60C (assumptions) will cool the air with about 2C. Less than I expected. On the other hand, evaporation of all the water will remove about 25C. Lets assume the air was 90C and goes to 63C. Air density goes up by about 6%, but you have injected about 1% water, so total of 5% more air. You need 5% more fuel with a whopping 42 MJ/Kg energy content (that's 20 times more than the latent heat for water). Additional fuel to injected water ratio is 5 to 1 ...

... so yes, temperatures will go up

PRE ZANDVOORT LIST    1.Exhaust off 👍 2. check wadding and do whats necessary 👍 3. have exhaust welded up where hanger snapped off 👍 4. fit water injection  5. change brake pads ( didnt do them before croft bit did take them with me just in case,)  6. put all back together 7. start to work on a water injection map  8. try and get a half day track day  local to give the car a shakedownrear  9.new rear R888Rs on the rear,
