car goes on the road at beginning of next month and i am really wanting to take advantages of the pro dutch software which has a lot more features

the thing i am keen to explore the canister purge valve disablement

so i am calling on anyone who has removed it for some advice

im assuming as well as disabling it there is also some of the pipe work that can be removed

luke shared this with me last night

i will be keen to keep the carbon canister or get a replacement one, and put it after the role over valve/breather

on a other note got my elise parts bells and rotors on with new pads so hoping these will help with how long the pads last, (there is still a track day in the old pads but thought i would put new on at this point with the ne discs )

What pads were you running again?

My eliseparts alu belled disk took the beating from my RS14's quite good.

RC6 not so well.

They are rebranded ecb's i once read.

in the pro instructions about the purge valve it reads this

Canister purge valve disabled
It is possible to disable the canister purge valve. If the canister is removed from the car it is necessary to configure this. This way the ECU will know the canister is not there and will not compensate for the extra fumes from the canister.

doe this mean that the ecu is not expecting the fumes from cannister to the TB
does the valve still operate ??

i ideally want the valve still to work (pulse) and stop the ecu from adjusting for the fumes in to the inlet

just need to do a log with it active and disabled to see if the valve still works

I think the valve will stop working. If it is working and the ecu dosn't adjust then the mixture will be incorrect if my thinking is correct?

I modified mine to the same as your drawing above, been like that for many many years.

I have no electric valve, it just vents to atmosphere. Never smelt any fumes at all.

My pipe which should go to the Tb (inlet)has never been connected to TB since I supercharged so the valve has been working and I assume the ecu has been assuming there are extra fumes going in to the inlet and adjusting things to compensate, I was hoping this would just be a case as stage 1 disable it and valve would still work by what your saying this may not be the case but will do a log to see. If it is as you say will the valve be open or closed ?? If it's closed you have to remove it anyway

I was worried about it being sat in garage but if there is no issue then maybe the carbon filter is doing a good job Do you keep fuel in your car between MOT 😂😂😂

Not sure what state the valve is in when deactivated. A question for Peter I think 👍

Hated using them pedals. Ok if you have tiny feet, but if you have anything remotely normal like a 10. You always catch the go pedal when braking.

Hope they will help me to Learn to heel and toe Couldn't get anywhere close to throttle pedal on standar pedals If it turns out to be to close I will swap brake and flu ch pedal around as it gives a bit of difference

I found the throttle pedal too low on this vx so took the whole pedal off and changed the angle of the arm to bring it up. Much easier then.
