attention has now moved towards croft sprint on the 25th month (really looking forward to this )
list of things to do
1. hard top on
2. bleed brakes
3. possibly new set of tires (already in garage just in case )
also going to croft a few days before for a track day to home in on the track
Now im going for the win, but a few things have crossed my mind since entering, ive entered in class B2 which my car fits in to the regs absolutely fine, how ever the rules in classes are quite lose and subject to javelins thoughts, so could get moved up a class if its seen that i have to much of a advantage how ever if i get bumped up there is probably little chance of winning against cars on non E marked tires
no i dont no how me and the car are going to compare to other competitors and im certainly not taking a win for granted but by the looks of things i dont want to win by a huge margin (which might not even be possible )
so my thoughts are if weather conditions look to be the same through out the day
1st run get a banker in not fast but hopefully this will give me a idea on the competition but there probably also playing games
and take it from there and build up as the day goes on
from a car point of view
looks like i will be queuing up towards each run which means the car is going to be hot so i have reduced my road map fan start point to 92 degrees so the coolant should be cool , then when i switch to the water injection map just before run the fan will stop as the fan will trigger at a higher temp probably 105 or something like that
tires and brakes are going to be cold which is playing on my mind a little so starts will be like miss daisy i think unless i decide to be a thug and light up the tires in a attempt to get some heat in then ?? not decided yet
on the track day a few days before i will be pushing on the first lap trying to get a feel for things when tires and brakes are far from optimal
Has anyone else got any other tips or ideas for standing start one lap events
tire pressures etc ?
