I'm confused. 255 will not fit without arch extenders. Arch extenders have no use without cut out of clam. Are you saying 255 will fit without cutting somehow?

yes i run 255 no arch extenders

You can get a r888r 225 tire to fit on a 7j 16" wheel, so I've got lots of tire options

Thought so. If I ever have any funds again I’d love to swap to DTCs and wider tyres. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You say that but my missus hasn't batted an eyelid about racing costs (partly because she doesn't know how expensive it is) :)

Just got other priorities at the moment. Feel a lot of resentment toward the car as it’s cost me a small fortune to keep fixing (and yeah ok upgrading). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I just normally get the look But tbh the car is costing less and less these days ( mainly because modding has curved ) And I wear the trousers 👖 just don't tell her Lol So looks like my first set of tires this year will be 255 on the rear and 205 on the front and a set of uniroyal rainsports on my old set of tds, and then decide how the car feels, I suspect I will end up putting a splitter on the front to bring the balance back to roughly where it is now ( maybe a bit further back than this year ) but not to much as I like the car on the front

Thanks but I very much doubt I'll win anything, almost the entire field has been racing in the same class for years and so far I'm the only novice. I have two goals for the season, don't crash and don't come last. If I can achieve that I'll be well happy. I think I will be much more competitive (risky :) ) in the second season once I have some wheel to wheel experience under my belt thumbsup

probably going to end up with a 215 front tire and a 255 rear, which means im going to putting even more pressure on the braking system which i already struggle with (wear ) so is it time i went 4 pots on the front and bigger discs on the rear

Regardless of number of pots and disc diameter, I think what you need is larger surface area pads IMO (if you want longevity).

Did you read up my brake conversion? I converted my fronts to some Porsche Brembo calipers (out of a Cayenne) with +80% pad area about 2 years ago. Wear on them is negligible now. Only cost about £400 for the whole project but you'd need to do a bit of simple machine work on lathe...

GL.
