Assuming you used fibre glass across the back? If so, how many layers of fibre glass did you use?Just strengthened it up across the back steve, will let that go hard and do some grinding out of the outside surface then have a go at sanding and filling

yep i will be up against it thats for sure and have a bit off work to do on the car to be able to compete
If they police track limits properly you should have no problem against it

from what i can tell the inside is approx about 4mm closer to chassis, hopefully this wont cause a issue with rubbing while on track but time will tell

not tried 255 tyres on mine yet , but swapping just 7.5J and 9J it just feels so much better , that might be the extra offset

911s have more weight further back hence the need for wider rears, If you mirror that setup you would be seeing much more understeer.

Wheels look good, im glad they fit, I've been waiting for you to test them. Once you get the 225 fronts is it mainly the rears that struggle with grip? Reason I ask is if I really have to extend the rears to get the likes of the 285s on the rear then maybe I can just extend the rear arches on there own? The likes of the 911s have 285 rear 225 fronts and maybe this is the ideal set up? Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
Getting the f/r balance is hard.
I've had 285r and 245f for years now, but suffered from an issue of understeer only when on tight radius curves (like small or medium roundabouts). I figured this was to do with the centreline of the fronts not being the same as OEM (ie my new offset was lob sided in the vertical plane) and causing scrub on one side.
FYI on a wet roundabout (with 3 empty lanes) I pushed the car hard to see what happened and with 285r and 245f the drift was very balanced indeed with all 4 corners letting go together whilst neutrally using the engine. When it slides like this it's really a nice surprise, as we all live in fear of the rear overtaking the front!
About 6 months ago I tested with 225 fronts (with ET35 offset) and there was a marked improvement with the tight corner understeer issue, so I've now gone down to this size.
For the rear even 285 isn't enough IMO, if I were to do it again Id go up another step to 315 or somesuch though there would be chassis reubbing issues for sure if you didn't "poke" your offset outwards. Depends on your torque as well.
One last thing, is that going down to low profile tyres has had a neg effect, try and keep higher profile tyres (for the road at least).
HTH.

Pretty sure 911s have the same weight distribution as the average VX/Elise.
I agree with your point though, it's like driving a standard VX with teh 175/225 stagger

Current Exige has 205 Front / 255 Rear as standard (I think the Cup 380 uses 215 / 285!), although I understand some owners feel it understeer's a bit in factory form with the standard geo settings. A little progressive understeer is not a bad thing IMO, lets you know where you are with regards to grip levels especially on the road in mixed conditions.
