You should decide what bhp you want from your car before spending any money on the engine, if you are happy with 250bhp then try and get a complete low mileage z22se engine and fit that.

But you will need to replace both chain kits on any engine you use, unless they have been very recently changed (they are all due for replacement due to being at least ten years old), look out for the later spec z20net chain tensioner with the bulge.

If anyone knows of a low mileage 2.2 for sale please let me know

Would you be interested mr Vock in a rebuild,
It's a m62 charger
So 250 bhp sounds ok
But you always won't more
Does anyone no what you can get from the charger

Charger can give low 300s but its the internals that loose out at 270+. Just a case of changing the pulleys on the eaton to give more power.

Stick to Stage 2 (up to 260bhp) and no rebuild required. Go for that extra 40bhp'ish at Stage 3 and you're into £1k extra for forged internals in the engine, which brings it's own issues. It's also not as good as the Stage 2 setup.

Stage 2 250bhp will be fine cant warrant extra penny's for forged engine

The wife will be happy
