Seems like I only have to order new rear wheels if I want to switch to the wider tires.
Is 17x9 et30 the best option or is another ET value better looking at the space at the chassis and rear clam?
And what is the best place to order the wheels at the moment?

Very wet snetterton (Javelin sprint series )
Got down there on Saturday to watch Joe get some practise in ready for the sprint day, and it was wet wet wet , soaked to the bone but hey ho that is the way it goes sometimes. unfortunately things did not start particularly well i pulled the front of the clam (near number plate ) loading the car on to the trailer ( first time ive ever used the trailer ) so there was some last minute emergency fibreglass going on even before i got to snett not the start i wanted
I also got my wires crossed with the accommodation for night it seems everyone wasent staying at the track but at the only hotel in the area (travelodge) anyway Joe kindly offered me his floor, and on the Saturday night me, Joe, Richard, zoobeef and Mrs zoobeef sat on Joes bed tlking general rubbish watch saturday night takeaway with a dominoes pizza and winding richard up about his first outing in the vx. But we laughed and talked some rubbish and turned out to be a alright night considering all whilst looking at every weather app we could find
Race day
well it was wet really wet and with Mcdonalds breakfasts in our bellys we set off and the Joe started to have Jitters about the fact he entered in J6 instead of J7. so we all called him a big girls but decided he could toss a coin to choose his final class ( he lost and he was in J6 )
sighting laps and practise done complete on r888r it was clear i had to change to the rainsports (which joe and richard forgot to bring )
Run 1
first sprint in the wet, first time on the rainsports TOLD MY SELF JUST GET A BANKER IN its early doors and the weather s due to get better .
so away i went not pushing particularly hard but kept everything neat and tidy and what a lap it was at that time of the day left me 2nd overall and first in class
best start i could ever hope for

lunch came soon after run 1 and underneath i was thinking let rain let rain but i think everyone else prays were answered and the rain eased off but this left the track greasy and very slippery
the rainsports did not like these conditions at all
and to be honest i shouldent of gone out but i did which if nothing else gave me a bit of experience with different lines and test the grip levels ( which were terrible )
run 2
time did not improve

Run 3
didnt want to go out tbh the track was still greasy and time were not getting any better, but there were clouds lurking and the threat of rain was here so i throw the r888r on and just went for it. thanks lee and mark for helping with the change
not really sure what happened with the times but i knew it was not good
Joe was the next car after me and i think i was the last car who did not improve on his time but joe turned it on a got a cracking lap in (he and lee did get over excited though )
little un sporting i thought but i can lose as well as i win
watch the video all the way to the end and you will see there excitement lol
so i congratulated Joe on a cracking lap
Any way the clouds then started to get thicker and there was rain falling over the tree just beyond the the track and our class was called for our last runs
i eneded up first out on our class again with other close behind
did i want to be first out in class and miss the rain or hang off until one of the last runners ?? i offered joe who was just behind me to go first he refused
then my heart sunk
my water injection water empty light flicked on AAAHHHH
pulled to one side and ran back to the garage and filled a jug of water up and took it to the car
Joe had already left for his run and the current class winning car Honda civic turbo was still holding off and still behind me
anyway back on to the start line and i could clearly see a dry line on the start , so lined my wheel up on the dry stuff and prayed lol can you imagine the stick i would get if joe in his na beating me
so this was the all or nothing lap
launched the car ok but still had major wheel spin in second gear and third
gave the steering wheel a good tug left and right to try and feel what grip was under me and i cautiously turned in to turn one and i could see i dry line
so i just went for it there was a lot of grass on the right hand side if anything went wrong but the car just suddenly gripped up and i was away
and the commitment continued all the way to the bently staright where i left the braking very late infact to late but managed just to get in round the left after the staright but couldent touch the brakes to slow down for the nxt right as there was loads of standing water i had no where to go and had far to much speed going in and had very little option left
so just turned in and hoped for the best and to my surprise it turned in but the rear stepped out big time car went one way then the other but managed to get back on the power in 4 th gear enetering the bomb hole and there was significantly more water in this part of the track then any other and i lost the rear again but managed to regain control and a i eneterd corum there was a good dry line in the middle of the track which i aimed for and carried a lot of speed in there (and as joe was asking me all day how fast was i goung through there i took a glance 80 mph ) the car was on its limit and as i went round and the corner tightened up the dry line dissappeared and yet again i found the car unsettled but manged to hang on and get the speed down for the last corner laeft the car in third and drove for the line
i missed my time on the board so had no idea what was happening but it certainly felt like itr should be quicker than my first lap
and it was nearly 20 seconds quicker and this put back in 1st in class with just the civic to come round
as it happens he was off the pace and i took the class win from the honda integra by 1/2 a second ish so just did enough, it was a terrible lap thinking back and wish i had started the camera but forgot to do it

The enjoyment has quickly turned back in to pain
Exhaust did go particularly loud at snett so yesterday i took it off and its rattling and empty again, i think it was repacked around 20 months ago when it was done with the PTX thermal volatility stuff, but think i am going to go for the ZT-1 stuff which im hoping to pick up today
also want to make my exhaust repack-able easily accessible from the wheel arch
i did manage to remove the whole box through the arch so should be possible to just remove the middle section complete with the perforated tube leaving the rest in place

Stuffing is just an endless bodge IMO. Best to design a new silencer that actually works better, with separate chambers and more perforated pipe (layered if necessary). I got my silencer down to 102 dB without stuffing, with your engine and using just 3" pipe I'd expect to be able to easily get < 100 dB without any stuffing, but still have < 1 PSI back pressure.
I used wire wool in mine, but even that melts and breaks down, so in the end the silencer design is the thing to concentrate on IMO.
