:yeahthat:

I was always under the impression that you use the softest tyre available for sprinting.

Did you try Adams and Page, I got some from there and they did a deal as they couldn't get rid of them

Hi Chris,
How are you getting on with tyre rub on the inside on your new wider tyres?
I've fitted mine and am getting a little rubbing, but haven't driven it hard yet.
The rears I got in the end are ET35 instead of ET30, as there was a problem with the casting and needed the wheels. I haven't got the 5mm spacers yet, but I'm unsure if the outside of the rubber will catch the outside arch? As it's close.

I've also had my geometry done, he could only get 2.5 degrees of camber rear and 1.5 degrees front. What do you run?

He said he could machine down and get more if I want, but he said track it first to see how it feels.

(I'm booking Anglesey for 22nd of March, but don't think my exhaust will be ready, so will have to use the spasda again) Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

I've not had rubbing on inside 5mm must make the difference On the out side I did have to remove spat 2.8 degrees here

I just cut my rear mud guard down on the inside, looked the same from outside but I had to bond a fixing point on the inside of it to be able to attach. Also watch out for the handbrake cable on the inside, I think the N/A routing is different but on the turbo I had to tie wrap it out of the way.

Been in deep thought today When on 225 tires I had the spinning wheel issue but not as bad as it is now with the 255 So increasingly the grip overall has caused the unloadee tire to spin more ( more grip on loaded tire ) This in turn is causing a lot of role at the rear hence unloaded spinning So by going softer springs as suggested by some this will increase grip further, so in my mind this has potential to make issue worse. If I go stiffer springs the car should have less role and inside wheel should have better grip ?? Thought so on that ?? Then that brings you back to rear ARB But then also a LSD as suggested is a work around rather than trying to hold the rear of car squarer I would like thoughts on this

Wont going softer increase the dynamic camber change the car sees and increase the grip in the inside wheel? (Nev gave a much better explanation of this a few pages back).

How much roll do you get now?  If you want to stay on those springs could you change the static set up of the rear geo to get more grip without body roll? (less rear camber for example).

*these are questions from someone very rusty with suspension set up since my motorsport days.

if your going to give me more grip im going to exploit it which is not going to help the inside wheel as im thinking its going to lift the unloaded more ??

I guess that depends on how much the grip difference is between the two wheels when you roll. At the moment the differences sounds high, because you can spin the inside wheel. If you increase body roll to take advantage of the grip increase on the inner wheel from dynamic camber change it may increase it more than that of the outer wheel. I would guess the grip difference wont stay the same as its based on a number of factors rather than being a set ratio.

You could always try putting your front ARB on soft as a quick fix? Although would you notice with the spring rates you run?

Not necessarily, less roll can have the effect of lifting the inside wheel off the ground and reducing overall grip across the axle. This is probably what is happening now.

this is turning it to a nightmare

i need to get a test day in somewhere trying various spring settings and see what it brings

Would a rear arb not make it worse? I have the ep 1" front arb and my inside front wheel sometimes lifts off the road. Wouldnt a rear arb do the same to the inside rear?
