Yes second gear power is fine, probably always was but when it didn't work first time and it did in third I just kept using third. But now I'm using power to fine tune the ignition second is better. I'm using about 4 different ignition setting in 1 table, thinking of doing a other fuel learn now I'm taking advantage of the ignition/knock then back to ignition again. I beginning to think the more you add to the map The better it becomes. Should I keep the knock less than 0.5% as instructed in instructions

Thought for some reason you couldn't use the knock detection on SC'd cars. Sure I read that in Peter's manual at some point in the past.

I may well be wrong and it's from an earlier version of the firmware.

Think your getting slightly confused with this

Misfire check
The ECU knows how the crankshaft should react on a successful ignition. This is a good way to detect if there are misfires. However if the power output of the engine exceeds 250hp, this algorithm fails, and it can switch the ECU into leap home mode even when there is nothing wrong with the ignition. It is therefore advised to disable misfire detection if an engine produces more than 250hp

ive got this bit disabled, but it still works on the power measurment

This is the result from adding 1.77% of ignition advance

going to play a little more with this option on the Dutch ECU sofware

And this is with 1.06% on top of the above 1.77%

as soon as the weather improves im going to make a ignition settings taking the best bit out of the three above ignition setting ( base, 1.77%, 1.77+1.06%) then repeat the power measurement then check knock and then add1.06% and also reduce by 1.06% from new start point to see if there any other gains to be made.

then i will be doing a other fuel learn session and repeating the process again

I should also add the units of measurement are only for reference As I have not set the parameters probably but they are consistently the same

Yes was scared of the program at first but after getting used to it for a few months I'm gaining confidence, Just take 1 step at a time doing the basics first then master the basics before moving to the next stage.

Personally I'd leave it turned on, all the CS mapped cars will have it and haven't heard anyone with <300bhp with any problems. Only Harrop cars seem to have the issue.

Here is what i have been doing this afternoon

Posted Image

the red line is the current power curve

the green line is the current torque curve

the black lines close to each curve is the original curves after fuel learn session.

i havent been able to get much more out and out power but have managed to get the curves more stable and steeper

i should also say these results are only reference points as i havent been able to weigh the car probably and also i had tools and spares in the boot because the road i was using is quite far from home.

but for the people that want to no i have under estimated weight of car so the chances are its producing more than what the graphs suggest

I'd say those were very useful gains and as much, if not more than you could hope for, given the engine is mechanically identical pre and post tinkering. It's a supercharger, so boost is always the same unlike a turdo where you might gain 50bhp and 60ft/lb's of torque by electronically altering the max boost.

Over estimated the weight, I hope? Wish Peter would set up switchable units in the software. All this metric stuff doesn't make sense in a world of bhp and ft/lb's. :D

I weigh 100 kg and the boot was full of tools and spares and a full tank of fuel I reckon the car was weighing more than 1000 kg

You're a great advert for the software thumbsup Glad it's working so far. How much more tinkering do you think there is?

I think the more you mess with it the more you get out of it, I think it's a bit of chicken and egg syndrome You have to fuel learn first then play with ignition, But when you have altered ignition you have to do the fuel table again but then you want more from ignition

Excellent work there chill the graph looks really good now. Might have to do a fuel learn on mine as I have only done it once!
