I'm convinced there would be more to gain if I changed my exhaust manifold, As I'm still on OEM

I put a Tullett 2.5" with their full system Big gain .I did have to put the uprated fuel pump on, as it ran quite lean at the top end.

I've uprated fuel pump to 255 Walbro And I have Tullett 2.5" back box just need manifold but on the other hand I don't want to go over 260bhp because of engine internals are standard and will be staying that way

My 2.2 NA engine is standard just make it a lot freer with the Tullett manifold

Wow, 320 ft/lb of torque - am I reading that graph right? That's a lot more than I would have guessed, how much torque does an OEM mapped ECU make for a stage 2 for comparison please? Seems like the power figure is low though, even accounting for power drain due to winding up the supercharger. Surely at 7000 RPM you'd expect something in the region of 7000/5252 * torque ?

Ok ive had a interesting morning

after i had been playing with all the ignition settings over the last week or so i have seen some good improvements (see above graphs) however i have noticed the exhaust has started to get sooty.

so i wanted to prove my theory that the fueling is now running rich after the ignition changes, so i did a other fuel learn session thinking that the fuel must not be right after the ignition changes,

whilst doing the fuel changes the exhausts have now gone back to the way they were,(NO SOOT)

and here are the results..

The problem i have now im convinced i will get more from playing with the ignition again

SO TO ANSWER THE QUESTION WHAT CAME FIRST CHICKEN OR EGG?

You cant have one without the other.

so the more you work on the maps the more you will get.

but you cant have 1 without the other

Diminishing returns. Yes, more adjustment to timing followed by fueling refinements may help, but since you're limited in power by the con rods what will you do with the gain?

It depends on where the gains are im no confident i can put the power where i want if there is anymore
