Ive just been speaking with Vocky...this seems to be the most sensible option for me to opt for...i can keep the engine and m62 setup i have now (safely running 262bhp) and buy and rebuild a brand spanker for the same price or modding my current one...and if needed, sell my current one to recoup costs

It means i can keep the car running too and gives me something to tinker with in my own time and at my own pace

I just need to no what the full financial impact would be to get the b207 to fire up with the M62 in my car

roughly £1k less than using an old z22se :)

No reboring costs and the engine already would have most of the parts on from new

Rebore is only £125. Do them engines come with starter motor and water pump?

Also can't understand the maths on that one? I thought all Wiseco pistons required machine work for the reasons mentioned in the other thread. It makes a lot more sence if the std internals of the new engine would take the power.

Because the engine would be new you wouldn't need A quick breakdown of some parts required to rebuild an old z22se engine shows it's the cheaper option; rebore - £150 crank bearing shells - £100 oil pump - £300 water pump - £75 rear main oil seal - £35 saab sump - £65 saab head - £200 timing chain - £185 balancer chain - £130 oil pump gasket - £20 crank pulley oil seal - £10

that's a total of £1260, then if you use the sodium filled saab valves instead of paying £400 for some from the states that makes a rough total of £1660

then you could keep the brand new springs and save another £350 if you don't plan on going past 7200 rpm, so a saving of about £1k

Could save on cams if I bought the b207R engine I think

Chill, you might as well go the whole hog and get comp cams. You're going to want super tech springs also to get that high rev range. Do you think we could get something off these engines if one of us said we wanted 3-4?

I can't see advantage of going above 7200 rpm with m62 charger
