And we have come to the conclusion that do the chains and just keep putting oil in .

The sensible option :sleep:/>

I have put the charge cooler on early because a don't fancy draining down again in a few weeks so just need to attach pipe work when we start the SC

I don't no if it was necessary but I have turned the fans round as the cables look short

swapping the fans around is normal, it's a 'carry over' from when the hoses used to go down the offside, ProAlloy really should fit them the other way round for the SC rad

Ok I have put the new rad in and charge cooler in prep for SC, don't no if I will regret it carrying all that extra weight at Cadwell and peaks meet

Whilst we have been doing some work on the car
I noticed the medal funnelling to the air filter was broken and drooping

Posted Image

So I decided to take air filter off and do some kind of repair as I will be changing filter when I SC

My pipercross air filter is drenched in oil
(Which I didn't fit)

Posted Image

Have we found where most of my oil has been going

Is this the trumpet which everybody removes

I may be wrong but isn't oil in the air filter housing usually caused by excessive pressure in the crank case, usually caused by excessive piston 'blow by'. Indicating that the either the bores or rings are worn or damaged. If this is the case wouldn't supercharging just make the problem much, much worse? Just my 2p.

Are you sure it's engine oil and not just the shitty air filter oil that somebody has been a bit generous with?

Piper cross air filters come pre oiled to help catch any sh1t. It's a black tar type stuff and gets all over the place. Wouldn't worry to much on it. Just change for a paper filter or bigger cone type.

Filter is BEFORE the crankcase vent so very unlikely to be from that. It will just be over oiling of the filter
