got to run it in first 1000 miles,

How does that actually work?.

Do yo uneed to stay within a specific rpm range for X miles, then a bit extra or something?

for the first 100 miles or so not going above 3000-4000rpm

then not going above 5000 until ive done 600 miles

6000 up to 1000 miles then see where we are at, then let her go

there also a oil change at 100 miles and a other at 500 and will probably do a other at 1000 miles

Run it in on mineral oil to start for the first 500 miles ,then go onto semi synthetic

i agree, also its not really revs that is the issue, you need to bed the rings in so you need to load the engine up briefly

there was a great guide on pumarace engine online somewhere about the running in procedure

Just drive it normally.

thrashed my company car from brand new out of the box, 2 miles on the clock, mercilessly. Pulls like a train now, and i'm about to hit 50k miles without any issues and without any oil usage at all between 20k mile services.

Congratulations. Modern engines don't need that sort of treatment. But as you have forged pistons not the originals it is worth some bedding in. First 50 miles non constant speed driving building up the RPMs with lots of engine braking. Then change oil no need for mineral oil according to Mr Fez, synthetic or semi is fine. Then start to drive normally. The worst thing you can do is sit at constant speed for a long period of time. Also don't let it idle to much!
