There has been quite a lot of work going on with Peter concerning non OEM cams, im just waiting to hear back from Peter concerning the non oem cams,   there has been more changed than just fuel learn

Also the car now revs freely at all revs Even below 2000rpm when previously there seemed to be a lot of cam overlap up to 2000 So the car also needs a fuel learn session before national and a fine tune.

Did you change anything particular, or just a decent fuel map learned...??

Yep big changes and mine is amazing to drive in 4 gear at 20mph where as before you had to be in second gear.

Huh? Both of you please explain

Ah OK, so Peter made some progression with his cam / idle settings. thumbsup

Peter has been experimenting with non OEM settings which for most people who have tried the new settings has seen massive improvement below 2000 rpm which previously caused the car to judder which was described as cam overlap, It has a lot to do with ignition setting and the natural egr of the cams, Peter has asked me not to share my settings as it could be different for different people, He has also indicated that he will be very soon updating each calla ration with the new settings on a individual bases and is hoping to make a announcement over the weekend on his forum

All depends on which cams you have installed. It seems Schrick did pretty well with the cam duration and timing for the std mapping. Which means once on the move they drive very well across the whole rev range. The Comp cams need little more work but Peter is coming up with the goods!

"Natural EGR of the cams"??

Curious to Peter's explanation on his forum. With the LSJ ecu we're experimenting too with idle timing settings, the coast down timing and throttle body opening parameters to tame the idle behaviour with cams.

I never mentioned idle, The idle settings are a other story and sure will come good in the future

This test works on the principle of exhaust gas recycling induced by the longer opening times of the camshafts at low rpm. At lower rpm’s and lower power there is quite a bit of exhaust gas sucked back into the engine. This will give the same effect as opening an EGR valve and can be used to dramatically increase the ignition timing in this range of the map. Which has a positive effect on the drivability.

That explains why peter wants me on bigger exhaust asap after me mentioning the poor idle on stage 1 comps on my b207

Looser than before Luke It's not a nice job in fact it's now taken over as the worse job on a vx The width of the new cables do cause a few issues, if they go wrong again I'm selling up

That bad really. Sounds like I'm going to have fun when I come to do it.

Later I thought thst you indeed mend cam reversion with this "EGR". :)

you can run more advance down low through this, and also goof for mileage.

(and more exh back pressure will amplify this effect Smiley. ;-)

Ps, I just changed my cables to the German ones and had to completely reroute them. And modding the gearlever assembly helps a lot, if not impossible to fit without... :(

Lots to do and the national is coming

1. Change engine oil and filter,
2. Brake fluid
3. Brake pads ( 1155 are not up to the job )     changed to CL5+
4. Need new rear tires    got new tires
5. Would like to get geo done but don't think it will be done before national ohh and get new toe links fitted

6. fuel learn session for the new revs below 2000 rpm

Geo was done at blink Motorsport highly recommended

Posted Image

Didn't go very smooth there were a three of the shim bolts were seized or rounded off which needed drilling out and re-thread.
