Well the new year is upon us 2015 As stated earlier I will be putting on the Harrop 3.1 pulley and 3" exhaust as a attempt to keep temps lower I may also be lowering my RPM for the same reason I will also over the next week start to strip the old M62 off and check the inlet and laminovas to check if the have collected much oil residue since changing the PCV to fully open, I will also be putting the catch tank in with some home made separators in there, this way I should see how much oil is being sucked through. I did want to put the pipe from cam cover straight to exhaust but this can be put on hold for now, the car is not using as oil as previously with the cam cover pipe open to atmosphere. I will also be servicing the car oil filter fuel filter and possibly changing the air filter setup but this will be on hold along with LS4 throttle body So my hopes for first stage Cooler inlet temps Hoping the 3" exhaust is going to be quiet enough for track days Not after any extra power despite having a 2.8 and 2.9 pulley with the charger of joe going to stick with the 3.1 pulley. Going to try get the car back on the road in late February early March to get the mapping sorted Happy new year Chris

Very curious about this, as all scary pictures so far were from systems with pcv closed.

Joes car with the 3" exhaust and Harrop was never good on a noise test. Decibell reducers were required at Snet to even get close to a static pass.

It's been modified since then but If it's still to loud I will extend it from exit with a other silencer external to the car ( removable)

Hi Chill, in regards to venting the crank/cam pressure directly to the exhaust, isn't it likely that the exhaust pressure will be quite high, such that it might not release the pressure from the engine? Have you seen/read much about this sort of venting which has had success, or are you speculating/testing, as I am interested.

the exhaust system see exhaust valve pulses every 180° crank turn

I think in a turbo car that is less likely to be prevolant (due to the turbines modulating the flow).

I suppose the key thing to know is:

X= Max exhaust pressure at say 6000 RPM

Y= Max crank case pressure as say 6000 RPM

If X < Y then venting will work.

Saab doesn't have one Also you need it after O2 sensors and wideband
