Someone posted a while ago a centre console where they had added a cigarette lighter to the front face. I can't for the life of me find the thread but wanted to see the rough area they had placed it and more importantly, that it wasn't fouling the gear stick at all. Does anyone have a link to the thread? I tried the search but couldn't find it.

Do you want it as cigarette lighter or a 12v power socket?

I was going to extend the current cig lighter wiring through the centre console. I don't use the one at the back because of it's location.

Would rather not have more stuff under the dash Nelly as want to keep things neat when it's not in use and dangling things under the dash will just get kicked by passengers. Good idea though.

Techie put one near the cubby hole in the side sill or I think fab/crazy frog modded the centre console.

Yep, one each side

But since converting to the turdo sills, I moved them up to the aluminium trim

Got one of these on mine http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3cc2bdddf6 bolted on the small level lip at the back edge of the dash by the bonnet release lever. Can't see it unless you look underneath but easy to put the satnav power cable into. Power runs down inside the footrest and probably runs back to the existing rear cigar socket.

:yeahthat: I remember a bygone day when everyone (i.e. N/A owners) hated the turbo ears.

I still do. I got the turdo sills as I hoped the front pocket would, with a bit of hackery, take the Performance Box. I can confirm it doesn't. I can also confirm the "speakers" in them aren't worth the name, let alone the additional 300g weight penalty. I pity anyone who ticked that option box when new and paid for them.

 :D turbo splitters - check; turbo spoiler - check; front speakers - check; central-locking - awaiting install....maybe I should have bought a turbo!

Old thread I know but was using the search for once. Presume you took a hole cutter to your dash for this Matt? Not sure I have the balls (even though it looks the most oem finish)

I did indeed use a hole cutter whilst it was still fitted to the car. Was very easy as there's a fair amount of room behind that moulding and it's nice soft aluminium. thumbsup Turns out it's also very easy to remove that section and do it off the car but you do need to be sure of how much clearance the socket needs behind it.

Dash is already off and I am tempted. Either that or the plastic sill.

12v thing like this then (maybe without the hinged lid) : http://www.ebay.co.u...#ht_2267wt_1018

Did you take a switched feed from the stereo? Seen that on another thread I think.

I'd go for something like this which looks like it's nice a short. The ebay one looks quite long.

Both of my accessory sockets are wired into an Elise Parts powerpack (and then direct to the battery) that's fitted on the underside of the dash. If you want them permanently live, I'd probably go direct to the battery with a suitable fuse on it.
