Could find anything similar so as the title suggests. Region / town / road name / postcode plus a description and of course your experiences and any photos etc. Would be great to know where all you vxers get your kicks. YO62, Helmsley, N Yorks. Today I rediscovered the B1257 from Great Broughton to Helmsley. A favourite with bikers in particular. Full of sweeps, twists, undulations (4 wheels off the ground today), crests and straights. Roof off and glorious sunshine. Was revelling in the new Larini roaring, bubbling and popping and spent 20 mins parked up in Helmsley soaking up the drive and settling my heart rate. However I then picked up and followed a Ducati back the other way - wow what a noise! Easily kept up with him through the bends but left me for dead on the very few long straights. He was chucking up stones for fun and one put massive chip in the windscreen which was only downer. Friendly toot and a wave as I peeled off to Great Ayton. Awesome.

Helmsley tt route . I quite often carry on towards the coast sometimes going in to whitby and following the coast back and sometimes cutting back over the moor to Blakey . A good circular route.

I try to do that run a few times a year, great run. I tend to give the bikes a good run for their money :)

The hartside pass is unreal too

At this point i should probably point out that Applecross pass isn't actually a great driving road, but it's an experience......and the roads all around are fantastic.

Personally speaking the A85 from Dalmally to Tynrdum is one of my favourite roads and the A87 / A890 Invergarry to Ullapool is pretty special too.

Austria and Switzerland are my favouries, roads like the Nufenen and Furka pass, Timmelsjoch and Grossglockner, are all fabulous. I think the Stelvio is a bit over rated, but it's still a must do road, but I find the not so famous side a better drive. Can't wait to get my VX out there!
Think this photo was taken on the Grimselpass, or around that area:

Completely agree with this. Stelvio could be good, if there were no other cars/vans/motorhomes around or people on bikes (of the pedal variety) going up it. The other less twisty side is much more fun, and the roads through Switzerland are very very good. This is the route we took back from Stelvio to Southern Germany; http://goo.gl/maps/CYuU

Completely unplanned, but was the best drive of the 5 day trip by far.

I just love Applecross pass just my type of driving.l find it much more rewarding to do at speed than the less tight faster roads.love it

My favourite drive is still the A701 from Moffat to Dalkieth. I used to look after a sales office just South of Edinburgh and could not wait to visit from Skipton twice a month (even in my 2.0L Vectra!) Rik

Good road, we went home that way after Camp Gordon last year.
