Would having a few track days under my belt be better before taking the test? or could i take it without being on a track before?

There were other people there today who passed who had not been on a track before at all. I have done a few sprints so had some idea of what to do. I certainly think it would pay to get a bit of tuition from a school or other racer before risking the test fee but, as I say, others passed without this.

Depends whether you are doing just the test or some tuition beforehand. I had done a number of trackdays and undertaken some tuition prior to the ARDS and found the driving element a doddle. Without some trackcraft, you might find it a bit tricky to get a feel for track pace.

Thank you, thank you! Woohay I am so excited and I don't even have something I could drive in a race yet! Cliffie is recommending Time Attack so I'm just researching what I need to do this.....

I agree with this. To be honest, the written test was the hardest part for me although it ain't exactly Mastermind.

price has risen in line with popularity , £108 now for the MSA go racing pack , basically an expensive application form.

plus ARDS test ( MSV circuits approx £250 for am/pm session )

plus medical ( http://www.gettingamedical.co.uk/ £48 )

plus NAT B licence £95

£500 , unless you can find a cheap circuit

Didn't I read somewhere the the Go Racing Pack forms etc. can be downloaded FOC? (I have 2014's blue book and am aware of the reg changes in 2015 that apply to me)

ETA - according to this It's £95 for the Go Racing Pack and that includes the license fee.

I was looking for a medical form, I can get this done with my aviation medical later this month, hate wasting money on forms when I don't need to.
