Need to reseal some headlights but would like to take them apart at a later date. Can I reheat tigerseal to break them apart or can someone recommend a different sealant that's more manageable. Cheers!

I'd say it was just your poor DIY skills that caused that. ;)

Tiger seal is a polyurethane sealant very strong and flexible try silicone sealant it will come apart easier.

I've found Tigerseal/Sikaflex to be pretty strong, I used it to stick the cycle wings on my Westie, and they didn't fall off, although I never had a need to try and take them off, so can't say how easy or hard it would have been to unstick them.

Wasn't it Tiger Seal that was used to bond the lights in the first place ? Assuming it was, then it isn't 'that' good... This topic reminded me of those old adverts where they had a bloke hanging from various precarious locations held there by his overalls bonded in place or something.

tigerseal is intense, sets like stone,it cannot be reheated once cured,so you would have to cut through it carefully to remove lense in future, and dont get it on you mums carpet, they go MENTAL!!

Silicone will not do. If you get plenty of heat on the tiger seal it will come apart but really it should be viewed as permanent.

tigerseal doesnt set rock hard, it dries like a hard rubber, but deffinatly not rock solid.

Interesting, is this possibly where the original seal is made from? here
Would gasket sealant work or not set hard enough?

I had to use some butyl tape after the Tollboothgate incident as I refused to drill holes in my rear clam. Was sticky as hell and think there's still some on there but it doesn't set hard and I wouldn't want to chance it on the light lenses. Though I believe Elise Parts or Elise Shop sell it for attaching the separate lens covers on the S1's.
