Ive recently fitted a standard turbo backbox to my otherwise standard NA exhaust system.
However it is blowing at the joint at the U section (circled below) and the standard NA flange. I think this is mainly due to the fact that the tubby system uses smaller bolts to secure the system (the ones I took out when I removed previous system would not even fit through the holes on the turbo flange).
Is there a gasket available for this join as I think this is the best way forward for preventing it blowing now and in the future.
TIA

Not by default. You could use the same gasket that goes between the manifold and downpipe as they'll both be for the same size of flange. Make one yourself from exhaust gasket sheet. Or use exhaust paste of one form or another to ensure there's a decent seal.

I bunged a small amount of exhaust paste on there when I first put it together. Hmm maybe should bung a bit more on.

millltek used to supply a gasket which whould last all of 20minutes before falling apart. its supposed to be a dry joint. best thing to do is the file each surface until it is nice and flat and free of rust and use a very small amount of gumgum.

Tullett advised using a thin bead of very hight temp RTV sealant on that joint on their system, just to be 100% sure the faces mated properly. Seems to have worked fine on mine.

I cut my own gasket out of a biscuit tin and used a thin bead of exhaust paste on each face before mating it up, has been good for 9months so far... thumbsup

You can get 3 hole gaskets off e-bay. I have used these + a bit of RTV sealant. No leaks and the gaskets seem to hold together ok.
