I thought Joes autobot bonnet looked really good but I wasn't convinced by the 'I just took a dremel to my car' look. A very nice man donated a bonnet to my cause and it was delivered by the VX fairy. Some moulding off the bevelled edges, some sanding etc and I ended up with this plug

The brown round the edge is so it would be a flanged mould as I fancy having a go at resin infusion later. When it came to the bottom it was a world of pain around the hinge area! Anyway, I ended up with moulds that were highly polished for a good finish. Being tight I took a moulding in GRP just to be sure of fit etc. Anyways, it looks like this:

I've had to do away with the third bolt so the hinge will need modding. I've tied in the underside to the spars so its strong enough. It was painted by my local and its not the best finish but it'll do. Just need soome nice weather, a spurt of good health and a good outcome from the 'strategy review' at work on Monday :(

The mould is up to it but I think they'll be too dear. I got my local glass place to cost it up. Not great. Not surprising given its not much smaller than a hard top and still has some fittings inside etc.

Hoping to get it fitted soon, just not on top form this weekend. I dropped it onto darcinis car as he has no bonnet hinge and its a perfect fit (as you'd expect being moulded from OE.
