I've just bought one of these and thought I'd share what the quality is like - http://www.ebay.co.u...=item25619c152c

Here are comparison pics of my OEM mirror and the new one

The quality is pretty good, I'd say on a par with the OEM item. The only problem is that the part number on the outer casting (as seen in the first pic). It's raised though, so it should be fairly easy to remove it a bit of sandpaper and a block, and would be hidden once sprayed up.

I'd say they're a pretty good option for anyone wanting to replace broken wing mirrors without the £40 VX tax that ebay sellers seem to add.

Useful thanks. I just stuck mine back on with epoxy. It just seemed to just 'click' into place when I tried to see how it went back together at break points. It was self supporting, so I figured it would be fine with epoxy rather than hassle of respraying new mirror etc. I take it the middle stalk is easy to remove ?

Yeah, a junior hacksaw has plenty of room to remove the stalk right up to the retaining washer

Definitely the exact same size. It must be the camera perspective. I've not fitted it yet, I'll be taking the other one off and sending them off to the sprayers before fitment.

Is the outer skin one piece, just can't see a join like on the OEM?

Yeah, the join is there

They're pretty much identical. If it wasn't for the text I doubt you'd be able to tell which was which.

Well Vx's are only painted up to the join anyway, so it's really simple to mask off for a DIY paint job. I'll be sending mine off to the local paint shop to be sprayed up black because I'm picky.... In fact, I'll probably buy another one and get that done too so I can have two brand new mirrors.

Quick update, the raised text files off really easily. I just used a small hand file and took my time, and it all came off with pretty much no marks.

The scratches you can see in the pic are just where I finished it off with 300 grit sandpaper, it's actually smoother than the rest of the plastic.
