Great result Mike. Did you do any data logging? It would be nice to see the results against the ones I have from you last year to see the difference :thumbsup

There is data but nothing is organised. It needs sifting through and sorting out. I was going to do it at croft in may.

I do have data and will sift through at some point. The brakes are too awesome for words and will take so much getting used to; I found myself braking then having to get back on the power and brake again as I braked way too early. The cornering speed now is a world away from what I am used to. I am well known for exceeding the limits on many occasions and have either spun or been on the grass at most corners at most circuits but despite much increased cornering speeds and laps in excess of 3 seconds faster than I have ever been, the car never gave any indication that it wasn't happy. Looking back and having slept on it, I am no where near finding the limits yet and I know we can match that Honda and my old mate Charlie. We had a good old chat with the guys from Avon about the ZZR and I have offered them a fair back to back run and a front running car to prove them on; fingers crossed.

Good to hear the car is performing well. Speaking of brakes, how did you sort the handbrake in the end?

Yeah, I thought it was really clever the way it deployed that jack handle behind the rear wheel, each time you pulled the lever. Very neat. :ninja:

Not surprised... hardly a "club" budget is it?

It's club pro. It's semi professionals people in my opinion. Mike has done racing before as has cbh. The s2k was built just how Romains crx was built. I have no problem with him being in our class. The s2k doesn't meet pro safety regs so can't move up anyway!

Not a reason to stay in a lower class though is it?!

Sorry, I haven't got X in my car, I'll have to stay where I am  Yes, I know my car has 2x the power of everyone else, and 2x the budget and half the weight, and I'm doing 30sec laptimes, but I can't move up.

Those statistics are way out. It's only 2.5seconds out which mike can find if he spends more time in the car.

Here's the build thread http://www.s2ki.com/...e-attack-build/

IMHO that's about as boarder line Semi-Professional as you can get!!

It makes Mikes build look like a slight refurb :D

Joe, it was tongue in cheek ;) A mild exaggeration, but where do you draw the line?

It was also the first time the S2K had turned a wheel, so there's probably more time for Charlie (and the team itself) to find, as well. Now it's finally running, I'm sure they'll be doing lots of testing with it.

It's more Charlie being a pro driver as he is paid to do it than the car. The milltek golf is pro build but the driver is experienced but amateur.

I think for club pro, either the car or the driver needs to be club level.

Saying that, it is good to have something to try to beat.

I think the car is similar to yours mike. It has a highly tuned rotrex charged engine - you have highly tuned supercharged engine It has awesome brakes - you have awesome brakes It has expensive suspension - you have expensive suspension It has a aero kit - you have a 'cad cut aero kit' (in the eyes of the believer) Therefore only difference is the driver no?
