Interested in wheels and tyres please. The Bridgestones were a little slidey at the Ring last week but that is comparing them to a Caterham on 32R's :P

Would go for the wheel not 100% sure about the tyres, and as long as the ABS is OK, and the 'PRICE IS RIGHT'. Does anyone know of a less track type tyre that would fit?

Depending upon the situation with the ABS surely the most sensible option would be to keep the standard wheels/tyres for road use and the VXR wheels/tyres for track use. That would be my preference but it really depends on the ABS situation. Mind you, in this scenario, would it not be possible to keep the standard ABS setup which will work with the standard wheels on the road and just disable the ABS when using the VXR wheels on the track, which is when you don't want it anyway? Thinking about this a little more, would a different geo setup be required for the VXR wheels? This would scupper the above somewhat.

I would say so, yes. The front wheels have a smaller radius (and circumfrence, hence the ABS issue) so the front of the car would drop slightly, affecting the camber (and toe as well, I think - trying to picture right angled triangles in my head...). Swapping back and forth from one wheel set to another is not as perfect a solution as some poeple make out.

Also, a decent geo setup on the standard wheels (a la Scared Stiff, Colin Blower, DIY or whatever) will go some way to increasing front end grip as much as possible to combat the skinny tyres (at the expense of other handling characteristics - excessive front camber for instance reduces the grip of the fronts under heavy braking). With wider, stickier A048s at the front you'd probably want a different geo setup anyway to readjust the front/rear grip balance.

So it's not just a case of having to adjust the geo to compensate for the smaller wheel throwing things out slighty, you'd probably actually want a different style of geo completey for the VXR wheel/tyre combo.

im still going down the Toora route, if and when I can get the funds together Agreed with Jase_MK above ^^^^ although I would think the Geo would then be identical to an Elise and therefore freely available? thumbsup edit: a little birdie just told me PVD are still trading :o i'll fish for more info thumbsup

Assuming we're talking about 48's being too track orientated for you I'm sure you'd get 21R's in the same size and they are much more road/wet weather orientated.
