Any news on this front? I need some n/a wheels if anyone is trading. BTW I have a048's on seperate wheels which I use for track days. I revert to standard n/a wheels for road use. I have the abs upgrade and don't have any real probs with the abs even when I have the a048's on on the road. I pull the fuse on track. I had the geo and ride height and corner weights set up for the track wheels (I have nitrons) and I find it still handles well when I put the standard wheels and tyres back on. I don't have any uneven tyre wear or anything nasty like that. Don't let it put you off buying these wheels and tyres. The a048's are MILES better than Bridgestone on track, don't let anyone tell you different. My car is otherwise bog standard (145HP) and was quicker than standard turbos round Brunters. Ask Big Si and Foxy, they had paxs. I'll be at Anglesea and happy to take any doubters out for demo runs. Dean

I thought the whole point of the VXR wheels was that the likes of 48's won't fit on the standard rims

He runs A048s on OZ Superleggeras, not standard rims.

For various reasons I have spent the last couple of hours at the dealership. I am happy to order wheels for whoever wants them however I make no claims about ABS, n/a, or etc etc No price on tyres yet but a full set of VXR wheels only will cost £770 with a minimal discount. If 5 or more of us order I am confident we could negotiate a price closer to £725. Because so many things have changed I thought it would be worth starting a new list to see how many people are interested in wheels only at a price between £725 and £770. Please copy and add your name if you are still interested. NEW LIST WHEELS ONLY. Ben L (R1 nur)

Nice one R1, i think i will do a little searching to see what all the options are before i commit to the group buy as the price is a long way off the estimate that was "officially" given to us a month or so ago. chinky chinky

If you want a048 tyres you will need to go to a Lotus dealer until Vauxhall sort it out as Lotus and Yokohama have an exclusive sales deal. I bought my first full set from Brooke Kensington (01869 325551) and they cost £612.65 inc. vat and postage - but I think they've gone up a bit since then. You can get Toyo proxes for half that price I think which would still be a lot better than standard simply because the fronts are 20mm wider I would guess but they're nowhere near as sticky as the Yokes. The Yokes were effectively designed for the car aswell

Thats nigh on 200 quid a wheel (without tyres) :o , that is a lot more than was originally banded about :(

You could try the Toyo R888 but at the moment they only have 205 for the 16" rim.

I'm fcuked if I'm paying over £600 for a set of tyres no matter how good they are. (unless they last 50k miles!)

IIRC £700 was banded about as a ball park figure for the VXR wheels - I'm sure nobody ever mentioned prices for the 048s.

Could you not have these made. Very similar wheel - not sure what the price or wieght difference would be. Maybe worth an investigation?
