Blimey, top effort. This will help keep more VX's on the road too as the cost is so much less than OEM.

Well done Jonny.

What a guy! thumbsup Love the idea of a black gelcoat version. May even hold off on the repair and paint of my front clam. What timescale are you working to on availability? Would delivery be an option?

Fantastic skills and such a great idea. We the age of our cars and parts becoming harder to find, this and many others making parts for our little cars will keep them going for longer. .org has some very skilled owners and has always been full of knowledge.

At the moment about 3 weeks. Delivery is always a challenge with big stuff. We are trying to meet people halfway if possible. We could deliver to Newcastle for example for £100 (just the cost of the van hire and fuel basically)

If theres anyone else in your area that wants one if we brought 2/3 up it would be more viable and delivery could be included.

Could these clams be available in Carbon Fibre too, or will it make them too expensive.

I'm impressed with the effort and the results...

Keep up the good work.

They could be wet laid in carbon but the weight saving over just making a lighter GRP one is very minimal. I doubt an acceptable looking wet lay carbon one could be made really so it would need painting as well. I have been told by one or two suppliers that they could do it but I doubt it could be done to acceptable quality.

If you do a rear would it be free of acne? If so I might come to you for both clams in a year or two - my rear is looking distinctly distressed and I'd like a spare for the front.

Yes they should be blister free when they are new! I did have a chat with the guys about the blistering and they thought it could be something to do with the vac forming technique used on the OEM clams or contamination during painting. They have a lot of big panels out on water board installations and the like that are out in all weathers and its not an issue for them.

Top work. I had to wait 10 months for an original a few years ago and it was about £1800 then so excellent work this will save many VX's.
