so just the ratio of 19^4 compared to 22^4 , the 22mm should be twice the stiffness, and the 25.4 just over 3 times stiffer . This assumes this inner wall thickness is the same.

Ill be powdercoating the ARB from red to black anyway lol

Mine is mostly for aesthetics, so the thickness is less of an issue for me.
If I got the 7/8 bar, I'd be getting it changed from black to orange/red (which probably makes the 1" the more obvious choice for me)

Unless the 7/8 is considerably cheaper, I'll probably take Mike's advise and get the 1". Still undecided for now though.

The 7/8 is not an upgrade on thickness over standard, it is only 5 point adjustable the 1" is thicker and adjustable.

pretty sure that's not correct, certainly is not for the Elise and I have no reason to think the std VX is any different.

The standard is 3/4 in diameter. Not sure if Mike was referring to the thickness of the wall though?

Is it ok to buy from France ? I assume that in this case the delivery won't be included And i'd also like to order others parts from EP at the same time. Could it be done ?

Yes I would think so, just add the extra items to the shopping cart as normal.

I will phone this morning about the delivery costs and times , but normally it is about 48 hours .

confirmed from eliseparts, delivery to France not a problem, it will be the normal charge by UPS , approx £10 , unless you live in a very remote area. Depending on the extra items you order , heavy and bulky items , if you ordered a hardtop or splitter then the delivery would be more.

What's the difference between running the 7/8 bar on maximum stiffness and the 1" bar on a medium stiffness?

I think the 1" bar will stay stiffer.
The ratio of bar diameter ^4 is 1.77 between 22mm and 25.4 mm.
The ratio given by the bar adjustability (stiffer setting vs softer setting) depends on the arm length.
By assumption i would say that the arm length varies from 200 mm to 260 (guesstimated) so a ratio of only 1.3. (To be measured for accurate figures)
It means that the stifness variation given by the bar adjustability will be less than the one given by the bar diameter.
