Still convinced a revvy V6 is the only acceptable engine swap for this chassis. Sounds glorious.

A little review of our Spa experience for anyone who may be interested. Never seen so many great cars in one place. Not sure how many lotus were there but must have been over 60. Amazing to be amongst it all in the paddock. Great event by LoT, stunning setting, and superb track (of course). European rules are relaxed - a db pass sticker just appeared on my window but didn't see a tester anywhere! Overtaking anywhere on track concerned me to begin with but the marshalls were brilliant at blue flagging anyone who was getting in the way, and people pretty much obeyed. Made for a smooth flowing really enjoyable day. Driving standards were understandably better than on 'all comers' track days and of course the cars were more than up to the job. I was I think the only car on standard road tyres. I've learned two things: 1) I want some TDs with stickier tyres (have you ever seen a tyre crying before? I swear they were weeping rubber at one point). 2) sticky tyres do not compensate for poor driving ability. I kept up with a lot of cars much to my surprise and my car is a totally standard NA. Speaking of which...My wonderful little car got us and a boot full of stuff 700 miles from Teesside to Spa via Oxford and Chelmsford and put up with being driven to the limits by two drivers all day yesterday without complaint (other than above mentioned tyres) however, as I type we are belting along through Europe with the undertray held on with copper wire (thank god I didn't chuck it) which we've attached to the exhaust which is in turn held on with steel ties :-D Bloody crappy Belgian motor ways finally did for the repairs by Crabash and Fezzasus! That said, what other car could you do something like this in for the price? It's unbelievable really. All in all it's got to go down as one of the best experiences of my life and has more than made up for the disappointment of the cancelled march event and I will be re living those brilliant corners for a long time to come. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is considering it. Although I've a feeling I'm preaching to the converted :-) Neil
