I had a tug on a reverie a couple of days ago (amongst other things) and they flex a fair bit. I think the key is a good stable mount to the subframe and sufficient strength around the belt holes.

My Corbeau FIA approved seat fitted by Lotus has quite a bit of flex int thr backrest. As mentioned above, once you are sitting in it and the harnesses secured tightly you are not aware of any flex, even under extreme cornering & braking on track. I suspect the flex is designed in to dissipate forces in a crash. Too rigid and it could shatter under certain loadings, I suspect. The quality of construction and material used will be more relevant to security and crash safety than how much it flexes... within reason.

I had the the seats fitted yesterday ,Bargi is true in what he said , The seats do tend to hug you down the side making them quite narrow, ok for the likes of me. The other problem I did have was fitting them to my runners, As the seats fit straight into a lotus theirs must be slightly different.

Kieran, please post pictures if you made any, specially how they were fitted to the runners.

I'd like a couple of photos of the 'drilling' part, or to go and see some before committing to a pair. Travel isn't an issue but to see the finish and to sit in one would be ideal.

Hmm just up the 140 from me... Kieran did you go to see his unit or have them delivered to you?

As you've had them in a bit longer now has your opinion on them changed at all? For that kind of price I'd be tempted to stick one in the vx for the national and give everyone a chance to see them for themselves, unless your going this year?

I have two fitted in my car , you do need to see which seat runners are on your car, I had to do a couple of mods to the seats. They are for Eliese runners. If you want a cost effective race /trackday seat these seem to be fine.

I'd possibly look at getting a set of elise runners.

I will have to remember this thread and possibly pop up in the summer.

I'm in Stratford Upon Avon. I've got a friend with an S1 that's really interested in these (his S1 is white) and I'm thinking about it as I want to put harnesses in without cutting the standard seats.

I have sourced a manufacter near me who makes GRP seats for VX220 and Lotus, The finnish seems quite good Gel coat finnish in Black or White , These will fit on the OEM seat runners. All that has to be done is to drill four mounting holes for fitting to the seat frame,

They come with harness slots, and velcro stick on padding in Black if required. £140 including padding per seat
. The mould shape is the Lotus seat motor sport version.
I hope to have a couple of photos soon.

The picture is of a Eliese S1

It was fine.  There was an inch of dust protecting it.

Look at the two different JK seat padding sets. I think they would be a perfect fit for these seats just alittle adaption for the narrow head rest area.
