I just thought I would highlight what I found when I was inspecting my fuel lines. My photo has tried to indicate the areas where I found the pipes to be rubbing. Where the LH arrow is the bottom pipe has a flat worn on the pipe from the top pipe rubbing. Presumably the top pipe will have similar on its underside but I couldn't verify that. The RH arrow shows another area where the pipes rub but not to the same extent. To eliminate this rubbing I have put a spacer between the pipes secured with a cable tie which you can see in the photo next to the LH arrow. This fix has separated the 2 metal pipes for their entire length.
Your car may well be different from mine but I would still suggest you check your lines. My car has done 45k miles so I don't know what it would be like after 90k??

they are quite rusty though
if you're worried about that sort of rubbing you should see the state of the nylon ones from filter to bulkhead.
I tried to remove the worry with a whole new system but now i know how it all works i can't help but worry about that!
I might have to buy an OEM exige and never touch it. that way i'll not know what to worry about and will never worry again.

That would be solved if somebody ever managed to get some fuel rail fittings that would mean binning all of that OEM piperwork. If only I could find such a person....

Ah ok so there is meant to be something there. I wonder if it got missed off when we did the SC converstion? All I've done is made a pad out of loom tape and pinched it between the pipes, heath robinson and far from JGed but hopefully it will get rid of the potential risk.
