a nice solution, quite time consuming but probably quicker than trying to find and buy a new headlight

Update: Finally fitted my Matthew Bently Racing ARB
Knew I cut down that allen for a reason
Works a treat, didn't have to loosen wishbone bolts as mentioned in guides on here:
ARB mounts came off easy enough but had a major argument with the drop links!

Obviously cleaned everything to within an inch of its life before fitting, including sanding the rust that had formed on the ARB through storage, and under the car. Also capped the ends of the ARB with Sikaflex to stop it rotting from the inside, as suggested by Chris Redman :

Have since driven the car, which feels fine I don't push hard enough on the road to really notice the difference

I have just removed my OEM mirrors & cut off the mirror & hinge mechanism from the triangular base & I’m now going to fit a lightweight mirror to the base.
I’d prefer to have my mirrors sticking out further. That said, I’ve recently bought an 8†screen & rear view camera for track use as I’ll have a coupe back with VERY limited rearward visibility.
Also, it will allow me to see Joe shrinking to a small dot when he attempts & fails to catch me.

I like your mirrors solution. Way too much work for me at the mo.

With hindsight... I'd have made the mirrors stick out further!

Are Exige V6 mirror bases compatible, as they push the mirrors a bit further out IIRC..

The Elise S2 mounting plinths also are a bit wider than stock VX:

You will need to sand down a little of the bottom edge of the S2 plinths to correctly fit on the VX door as the latter curves out sooner than the Elise does.

No biggie, but otherwise the screw/bolt holes won't line up properly and it won't sit flush on the bottom.
Bye, Arno.
