Definatly a Standard 8 or 10..More likely a 10 as it has an opening boot..... just like my first car..... Spookily I also had a Bedford CA crewbus

Dad's first car. A Ford anglia 105e estate, first car ever drove

Definitely a Standard Ten, as it has an opening boot. All this chat about parents cars, I'm 65 and owned some of these, inc the Standard Ten. BTW, an earlier post about the Maxi, how many of you remember that to lower the rear seat back/seat squab the rear doors had to be opened as the window winder handles fouled the seats, just another example of bad BL design.

anyone recognise the boot lol...Posted ImageSCAN0050.JPGPosted Image

I don't, but I asked on another forum and it's a Standard Eight.

On an Allegro if you jacked it up the rear glass would fall out.

Or more likely, an A35.

I Learnt to drive in one of those! , my dads rover 3500 automatic was obviously not a sensible car to learn in so he bought an A35 for me to learn in. I love the gearstick it was about 2 foot long!

My dad has had many cars over the years, being that he got a new one every 3 years from the company he worked for (now retired and loving his Volvo, but wishing he bought the Jag XF...).

Highlights included:

Ford Classic

Posted Image

Granada cosworth (loved it so much I bought one myself years later for £600)

Posted Image

Vauxhall Belmont- I think his had an SRI engine in it as he liked to race BMWs

Posted Image

Come to think about it the Belmont was before the Granada.

But the thing he has most of and loved, as he has about 10 of them, and already mentioned on here:

the Hilman Imp

I looked at one and thought about buying him one to get back the old memories, but honestly, no normal person can fit in one of these now!

I want another Granada, it was a brilliant car to drive....

Ah Eastern european. That reminds me. My Dad went through a stange phase in the 80's of buying newer (always had older cars previously) but cheap.

Hence this: (I'd left home by that point fortunatley.)
