Didn't realise this was your build thread mate, once you supercharge it you can put all the stuff you've taken out back in and make it look like a vx again ha ha

Yeah ill probably want to use it on the road then! All the wishbones are off. Going to clean and paint them at work although they are in pretty good nick. Nitrons are also off, they are 46's I presume as the body's measure 46's. If I can get some grease, may order it tonight and deliver to work then ill get the bearings in there too. And hopefully get the blocks machined too. Good old DSG.

Go and see Jack & Ray in the armours shop, they have a massive sand blaster and powder coat oven, I'm sure for a few packs of chocolate hob nobs you'd be allowed to do your wishbones.

Where's that? Only problem is I'd need to change the ball joints too then, I don't have the means for pressing them in and out!

Wishbones now have the bushes and ball joints stripped out. Water blasting and powder coating by the end of tomorrow hopefully. New ball joints should turn up tomorrow for about £90.

Wishbones won't be powder coated until next week now. So in my boredom I've gone and ordered Quantom single ways with 600lb front springs and 150lb helpers and 725lb rears with 250lb helpers and a full bump steer kit. The kitty is taking a hit this month.

Got the wishbones back earlier and despite me mentioning many times that I didn't want powder coating inside the ball joint and bush holes they did the whole lot. So it extended my fitting time threefold. Oh well its done now. Need to get them some biscuits for doing it anyway. One issue though is I have 28 small inserts and 4 large. As I can work out I think I'm supposed to have 30 small and only 2 large. So I've emailed elise shop, fingers crossed it'll get sorted. The Mrs is off work all weekend so don't think I'll have any time to work on the car anyway. I want to get the rear clam back off to do the exhaust at some point too. Tubby back box and get rid of both cats. Also ditch the charcoal filter stuff too. I think the quantoms are still being made so no sign of them yet.

Just fitted the anti roll bar while the Mrs was at the shops. I didn't realise I didn't need the new aluminium brackets ffs. Anyone need a set or ill just bang them on ebay. Are the vx's fitted with them as standard?

Had a spare couple of hours so the front wishbones and hubs are back on. Still need to get the steering rack out at the front. Also wondering how long the quantoms will be so haven't put the Nitrons back on yet.

I ordered the ones it recommended with the 1" anti roll bar thinking they were different to standard (unless someone has changed them on mine previously) but they aren't. So I stuck the new ones on anyway and have put my old ones up for sale. 4 watchers at the minute so I'm guessing some elises don't have them as standard!?
