Do you happen to know how much your car weighs these days ?

Bit scruffy on the last corner but other than that looking properly quick. It looks like you are getting close to the limit of those tyres, what are they?

I think I provoked that on purpose, bit of a show for those watching.

They are 888's although they have done 8-10 trackdays.

I'd does seem to slow me down a chunk.

A few other highlights of the day. A couple of sideways moments, following a poorly driven 380bhp race seat leon, a clio with a sequential box, a porsche carrera, a caterham with a GSXR 1000 engine (fastest thing that day) and a little spin at the end.

Like the way the Leon puts two wheels well over the line on entry to setup the corner and then proceeds to miss the apex by a good margin.

By the looks of that cage I'd say it's an MK indy rather than a Cat.

I meant to put caterfield as I have no idea what it was. Immaculate with lots of carbon though. It was only the guys second ever trackday. Quite a car to jump straight into!

I have no idea what the seat driver was doing. Apparently he was getting ready for a 24 hour race of some sort.

On its way is. Bell GP3 helmet in rubberised matt black Sparco suit and gloves. Sparco soft touch fireproof top, bottoms, socks, balaclava. Hans 2 device Rain light Extinguisher system Electrical cutoff Just emailed Nicky Grist about a 6 point harness as their site doesn't specify a VX220/Lotus one with shorter straps. Still waiting on my RNRMMSA membership number so I can sort some discount with Safety Devices for a cage. Just been told I'm going to be out the country for 5 of the next 6 months. That's this year's racing over. I should have a nice tan for the National though.

I went for the sport 2.  I don't know why as it was the same price, I've not looked at yours to see the difference.

They only sent one set of lens cleaner and helmet wax so I've spoken to them and they are sending a second set when they send the helmets.

Not sure the helmet wax will be any use on a rubberized helmet. Lens cleaner would be useful though.

Fitted new HCBs today, one thing to note is if you have the elise parts bump steer arms you need shorter front bolts 45/50mm instead of 60mm.

Also fitted 10.9 toe links so they are torqued up tighter now.

Got the 2 rear ZZRs put on the rear, will do the fronts tomorrow.

Ordered the 2-11 crotch 6 point bracket and spreader plate. Need to order some longer eye bolts though tonight.

Started fitting the cage today, holy fcuking sh*t balls batman.

Collected it from Safety Devices yesterday. Their instructions are a bit sh*t but the first part is to check the fitting kit. But nowhere tells you what is supposed to be in it. Turns out I'm missing some bolts, brilliant. But I may have some or will buy Monday if I dont.

Will update with pictures and stuff in a min.

The bits of the fitting kit minus the bolts for bolting down the front of the cage.
 Posted Image

Made space in the main garage for the vx to be worked on.
 Posted Image

Exactly 2 hours to get the seats out and rear clam off.
 Posted Image

Seperation the roll bar from the bulk head was a fcuked.  Don't ever just use a Stanley, get a wire saw.
 Posted Image

Where the old bar sat, the pop rivets get drilled and then the plate underneath place 65mm further back ish
 Posted Image

Using a gate hinge and some tape to stop the plate falling in the fuel tank area.
 Posted Image

The hole that needed enlarging for the bars that go to the subframe
 Posted Image

What I thought would be a big enough hole. It wasn't.
 Posted Image

How much wider the cage was to the cills.
 Posted Image

Got it through the gap with a ratchet strap and some creaking and cracking of the fibreglass. That's how I left it and am now in the pub. Not a great idea.
