MX5 however has more than both the VX or the MR2

I'm not sure about that. The MX-5's boot is pretty shallow and not much bigger that the VX. I find that you can cram a lot of soft squashy stuff above the wheelarches on the VX. Also the VX has the space behind the seats which takes loads of stuff.

Anyway, if you want a two seater with loads of luggage space you want an MGF. Or a Transit.

Transit! LOL

I didn't realise you had space behind the seats my elise did not have this tho the exige does.

Is there any space in the Exige for stuff then, a a better boot than the S1?

same size boot as in the 111r and a tiny bit smaller than an S2 Elise. Since the S1 had no boot yep its better, also has hydraulic bootlid openner! Thats what I call progress ;)

If my VX had a hydraulic boot opener, I'd be frightened the bootlid would snap in half as I tried to close it!
