So easy to do and so impossible to catch.
I am there next month and will watch out for that bump.

Wow. That was all so clean and nice until...

Rear pads overwhelmed the tyre grip and locked up. Was running different pad compounds so I guess the fronts faded first.
Weight transfer over the bump having the effect of making the car lighter at the rear = less grip a available
So James, the fact that Steve had two different pad combinations would have actually made no difference? I'm prepared to get flamed but are the above two quotes actually two different problems.
Thou having and car that is over braked on the rear would exaggerate the problem it could still happen with a balanced braked setup?
Just getting my head round it

I felt sick watching that knowing what the outcome was
What calipers did you have on the rear Steve?

Deano - I think it was a combination of both factors.
Gedi - Standard calipers all round, just incredible pads.

It all happens so quickly and expensively doesn't it?

Very sad video to watch, as above, knowing the outcome waiting for it to happen.
Think I will stick with CL5 (was going to move to 6)
So sorry to have seen this Steve, I could see you in a Atom 300s.
Be careful out on track everybody!

6's are incredible and if I bought another VX I would get another set in a heartbeat. Just make sure you use sticky tyres and a full set of the pads. They have 50% more stopping power when hot than 5+ pads and don't squeal at all if installed correctly

Blimey, It broke away very rapidly...
I hope whatever you get next, gives you as much fun as your VX did...
Good LUck Steve!

Wow, feel for you bud, it just came out of nowhere then bang...
... think the bump was the main cause having watched it a couple of times, scary.

ouch. watching that video was horrible knowing something bad was going to happen. Gutted for you. Your VXT is seriously quick, and sounds awesome :-)
Do you have any pictures of the damage?
note to self too, dont mix pads. Will check my car now.
