don't you guys have any issues with the bolts that go through the seat into the "sitting area"?

And how "wide" are you gys?  I am a jeans size 34.. will that fit? :)

You could reverse the bolts, ie bolt out through the seat.  You would need some BIG load spreaders for a bolt through seat.  However, to pass any sort of safety standard (and probably be safe) a seat should have the bolt locations and load spreader as part of the frame of the seat.  As such a composite seat should have captive nuts in a loadspreader plate in between the laminate layers.

I've just started looking at bolting a drivers side seat frame to mine (lotus sport type) and the seat is too wide for the subframe suggesting its designed for elise runners.  Lotus drivers must have fatter asses than VX drivers to need that extra room!

The problem I have is that its too wide.  The previous pic I posted is with the runners dropped on.  I measured the distance between the bolt holes in the car and bolted a piece of angle across the rear of the seat rails to make sure the dimensions were accurate.  Now it wont fit into the brackets at all.  Does that make sense?

Standard VX runners.  Looking at pics of elise ones they seem to be wide at the rear.

I bolted out through the seat the only way I could see round it
