Well, I thought I'd wrap my roller coaster journey up. It has come to quite an abrupt end, a change in circumstances means that I need something more boring practical. Here is a brief summary of my 20 months of VX220 ownership, I think I crammed a fair bit in:

Feb '12 Bought a VXT

Feb '12 - Nov '13 8 track days and 4 meets

Nov '13 Crashed into the tyre wall at Donington chasing a very Quick VX220 SC

Feb '14 VXT fixed

Mar '14 VXT crashed into whilst parked outside my sons school

Apr '14 VXT fixed and is now mint.

Apr '14 - Jul '14 2 track days and 1 meet

Jul '14 VXT maliciously set on fire and destroyed

Aug '14 bought the exact SC'd VX that I crashed whilst trying to keep up with at Donington

Oops, I pressed the enter button before I'd finished the post, here is the complete post:

Well, I guess this is goodbye, my VX rarely comes out of it's garage this time of year so I won't be doing any more meets or any thing. Now for the unenviable task of selling an open top car at the start of winter. :(

Thanks to all for the advice and help, this is a really good forum for things like that.  :grouphug: It has been a great experience, certainly with it's fair share of ups and downs.

Take care all,

Pete

Well, my physio has fixed my back so that is one more reason to keep the VX. I'm struggling to put this car up for sale, I think I'll SORN it over the winter and have a re-think when nicer weather returns. I managed to wash the car during my lunch hour and took a few pics. I've had the rear wing colour coded, I think it looks much better.

Thing is Pete when you have a nice one like that if you sell it you cant easily get one later on if you change your mind.....

Exactly that. Once it is gone it is gone. Hopefully when the summer returns I'll find some more reasons to make it fit into my life. It can be safely tucked away in the garage until then. :)

Now my search starts for an old banger to keep me going through the winter months.

I took the car for a bit of a photo shoot today. As per usual I took a gazillion photos and only 2 came out that were any good:

and i'd argue that the second one isn't good because the only thing in focus is the grass!

(looking good though, glad you're keeping it)

Unfortunately the reasons for getting rid of this car keep stacking up. I need a car with a metal roof and four seats. There are plenty of tasty cars out there in this configuration but still gutted to be parting company with my lovely VX  :(

Just read Pete's story from start to finish. Im pleased to announce that as of this weekend, I will be the new custodian of Pete's VX. Certainly looking forward to getting to grips with it, meeting new faces, and cant wait to get on track with it. Was a strange twist of fate that led me to Pete's car first, but certainly very happy with it.

Back in July last year this was done to my lovely moonland turbo;

Well, the arseholes that did it have been caught and are being prosecuted:

http://www.shropshir...-and-bin-fires/

Bloody fire fighters did this, I can't believe it. I live in a quiet rural area and these incidents terrorized my community. My car was the highest profile fire so I was stuck right in the middle of it. I couldn't take one step out of my door before one of my neighbours asked me what the police were doing about it.  These are people that are trusted in the community and they forced many of my freinds and neighbours to live in fear of the next attack.  Hopefully they will bring back hanging, bastards.

Part time firefighters. If i'm not mistaken, they get a small retainer but the bulk of pay is per job. So it pays to start fires.

The mind boggles! Glad to see you are getting some closure! Pyromaniac firemen...that's a new one on me.
