Pictures of new front splitter design.
Splitter is a bit shorter than old version and have raised front lip by about 10mm to help
With ground clearance on lower cars. Also sides are now a lower profile.

Have a look and tell me what you think

Loads better not sure about the sides to me just looks like its too thick (always look different in real life mind you.). How about a three part splitter with bolt on Winglets? I've always thought the splitter should follow the profile of the front clam of the Vx220 thise one is getting there good work.

side bits are very difficult as the clam sides go under so makes deciding what way looks best for a finnished product.

i still have a bit more to do to finnish it the side bits are fairly flat so could have little flat winglets added as this was my thoughts from outset.

i will be making splitter in two sections (left and right side) with a split in middle. reason for this is two things one is making postage easier

and secondly if you had a knock on one side only then you could replace just that side instead of a whole new splitter.

pictures arnt best as off phone so will put some more up as soon as ive finnished.

the problem running chris style on a daily drive is hitting speed bumps and low objects, its fine for track use only but being people have damaged mine and other

splitters from normal driving i wouldnt like to suply something longer that what i allready do.  Also if its the wood based items are these fixed to the metal undertray section as you will pass any knocks to fixing points  and do more damage than just ripping the fiberglass one off.

Chris' is an undertray that replaces the metal piece and the wooden part is only shallow and bolts onto the replacement under tray.

Yes this is a great design and gives the owner the flexibility to fit whatever size shape splitter they like. (Also proven in Time Attack is strong as old nails!

I think a lot of the problem with splitters is that they come straight out from the belly of the car I.e if you look underneath the car it slopes upwards (so you get a bit more clearance)when you fit a splitter that's flush from the middle under-tray straight out its actually near enough an inch lower and that's not taking into account how much the splitter protrudes out from the car. My splitter is quite short but for the reasons above its still nearly an inch lower

Im hoping being a bit shirter and a little higher this will cut down on speedbump knicks. There is a speedbump bear where i live that i wouldnt drive the car over its massive. So on the chris style is it just the band between bodywork and splitter people are looking for? As base is just wood.

Agreed Ben MK and Leighton Buzzard are a nightmare and the main reason I've raised my car otherwise would never be able to drive anywhere! With Robins new design this may solve this problem! Robin when you can, could you take a low level side profile pic to show ride height.
