Feel free to drop by when you're going past Luzern, especially if you need a new radiator and mine hasn't blown yet.

Did you enjoy the Swift?  I took my sport round the ring a few years back.  Most fun I've had!

The swifts was good fun. More grip than power so quite safe.

Yes, I was out in my silver VX, friend was out in his very yellow S2000.  It was very very quiet - we were there at about 5:30, gave it 10 mins for the small queue to die down and then went out.  Couple of scary moments with the pair of corvettes that were running round together

Just missed you then. We got there about 6. The red corvette looked like a right beast!

thanks for your links dude.. That is a awesome route..

This is the route I've been planning.. Which is similar to yours..

http://goo.gl/maps/GHfnN

That's a good route but it's all main highway.   I assume you're going to stop over to drive some of the passes.   If your route took you through Davos/Chur then Fluelpass/Julierpass/Malojapass and Bernina Pass are all within striking distance of a stopover.  Lake Iseo is O.K. (they had a tornado the first time I went there in the VX and there were trees down everywhere and the roads flooded)  but not a lot there and rather industrialised at the top end.  I just came back from Lake Garda yesterday (not in the VX) and a drive up the west side of the lake through the tunnels is interesting, then just out of Riva you can turm south east to Lake Ledro then Lake Idro, cut west back across to Lake Valvestino eventually coming out in Gargnano.

A trip in the car on the ferry from Maderno to Torri Del Benaco (I always do it the other way around) is great, giving you acces to the east coast of Lake Garda, and at Malcesine you can take a cable car (12 minutes) to the top of Monte Baldo 3000 metres +.  Fresh snow there this week, first time in 20 years I've seen snow there this late in the year, and still lots of snow in the Dolomites.

On your return home for example if you turn west off Route 35 at Biasca you can drive the Lukmanier Pass on to route 19 at Disentis/Muster and turn west allowing you to rejoin the E35 at Andermatt.  Locarno is a good place to stay because from there the Furka/Grimsel/Susten/Klausen and Simplon passes are within striking distance and you can drive them all in a couple of days.  Susten west to east is my favourite of them all, and as everyone says, forget Stelvio, although  it's nice to say you've driven it. :)

awesome. Thank you for taking the time to explain that. I agree, it is quite a lot of main highways.

I think this year is a bit soon now to plan a europe trip, so will be doing a UK car trip. Although, I want to plan a route like this up and get a bunch of us to go, ending at nurburg or something.

Here's a webcam link to Lake Iseo
