Here it is then..... bought from Chef1 and what a thoroughly decent chap he is too. Relatively low mileage at 44k, FSH and just been seen by Paul Matty for the latest service, biscuit (?) leather interior, cheaper insurance, what more can I say?

 

I spoke to the last owner but one, Noodle1791 who attested to its condition when it left him and after all going well on the test drive, its now mine!

Twice the power and it seems twice the time spent in petrol stations!

 

I'll no doubt have a load of questions very soon, but I'll steer clear of tyre size questions!

It was 300bhp but in a 1500kg car with all the 4wd transmission losses. Well, there are no buts really. It was pretty quick and the new owner is over the moon with it. I might have let it go a little too cheaply!! Happy where I am now though!

are you going to mod your car now? I like the scoobies but the VX is so much more fun and less chavy!

The idea is to get the mrs another cat that'll be the main family car, and I keep the vx for fun! As for modding it, it already has cams etc. so has a little extra poke! I'll leave it alone for the time being I think. As for the impreza, it was ultra reliable for nigh on seven years in all weathers. I'd recommend it to anyone especially at their price point now.

She would like a Mazda 3, and by all accounts the 04-09 models are better value than the focus equivalent. We are looking at one this evening. Edited to add: ha ha I saw what you did there!!

Hope the last owner spruced the Mazda up for us.
