Put boot carpet in. Mounted the relays on the wheel arch on some strong velcro - gives easier access.

Fitted undertray and TAT diffuser (allowed myself 1 bit of bling).

Fitted rear parcel shelf.

I got some black seats to replace the red ones (just preferred black) so swapped drivers seat and fitted passenger seat.

Fitted pax sill trim.

Fitted mats.

Aligned bonnet.

Went for 40 mile drive. Drives fine and is a hoot. But does seem loud. Perhaps its just because I'm used to totally standard NA, but it was as if the exhaust was getting noisier as I went. I'm absolutely cream crackered so put it down to that.

Apart from wash it, I think thats it until mapping on Wednesday.

Interesting, my car was definitely loader with the sc on, no idea why.

Really? Might be to do with the fact the engine is being fed air 10x faster than previous. Thus creating more sound after being combusted. ;)

When I did mine it was slightly louder straight after SC, Then kept getting louder after all my wadding slowly blew out and even louder after my cat decided to diss attach it self from the exhaust

But on tick-over it's louder - that doesn't make sense to me, at full chat yes but not on tick-over.

There is still more fuel and air going in even on tick over do bigger bang = more noise

Actually it's probably down to the small crack in my manifold being put under much more pressure with the sc and very quickly turning into a big crack!

Are you having it mapped with a cracked exhaust

I remember reading that. I did wonder if that was happening to mine as it seemed to be getting louder as the miles passed. Just been back out in it and actually is fine. I must've been getting tired/paranoid. It is fairly loud at full chat though. It's a milltek turbo backbox. Did research beforehand and judging by others it should be trackday friendly. Well except Bedford.

Nope, tickover and startup your car is an NA as the bypass will be open. The boost control valve is vacuum operated so no throttle = no sucking in enough air to activate valve and shut bypass = no whine :)

Your back box is baffled not packed. It should hold up much better than most.

Bypass is indeed vacuum operated, but it's normally spring loaded closed and pulled open by the vacuum behind the TB. TB closed = lots of vacuum => bypass open.

There's a nice animation about the inner workings of the SC engine... ;)

Yeah wondered for ages why the supercharger only whines on open throttle since its permanently driven. Couple of months ago saw this animation and explained it all.

First hurdle passed. Car made the 3 hour drive to CS with the only issue being the bonnet popping open on every big bump. Getting them to take a look. Could do with a kip...
