11:1 CR runs well with the standard ecu, but I am running 11.5:1 CR on my current engine with the webcon ecu.

Hi vocky,
what cam profiles are you running?

Hi vocky,
what cam profiles are you running?
stage 3 compcams, but they are a little mild for my 2.5 engine, tickover is way too smooth
yes, they are a nightmare to get correct, eventually arrived after three months
Just buy 'off the shelf' 11:1 CR pistons from them and skim your head if you want more.

What would I need to take off to get to 12:1? What running temperatures are you experiencing at 11.5:1?

I used Omega intruder pistons for an xe engine and re-bushed my con rods to suit and machined the pistons to lower the ratio
I honestly don't remember what the ratio but 12:1 sounds familiar, however I do have a thick running in gasket on and will change it at first strip down

Hi Welshiejon. To quote Spock.... "interesting".
Couple of questions
What's involved in a con rod re-bush?
How much did you take off the pistons?
Does machining the pistons weaken them in any way?
Why did you use a thicker gasket? Was it for compression reasons or something mechanical?
Any custom parts or is everything off the shelf?

Do you know any supplier that does high compression (9.5 or 10) 4032 alloy pistons for Z22SE Vocky? (off the shelf)
I have only found an aussie company so far, and they have the same pdf based puzzle is holding me back.

From JE Pistons
Thank you for inquiring about JE pistons. From the looks of it, we do not offer an "off the shelf" piston kit. Therefore, we can build a custom piston for you. But before, we can build a custom piston for you, we would need for you to send us a sample piston. Generally a set of custom pistons roughly cost around $200 per cylinder and the current lead time is 4 weeks. If you have any other questions or concerns, please let me know.

JE Pistons will make whatever you want, just pay them lots of money and they will arrive in a few months time
You should tell them it's for the L61 ecotec rather than a z22se

Hi vocky, I gave them both the US and Euro engine codes. Do you have a copy of the custom order form you used for your pistons?

Hi Thealastair. What type of custom piston did you get manufactured?

Hi Stephen,
Thank you for your interest in both Omega and Accralite Pistons.
We do not hold anything like this in stock, so we could look at manufacturing something for you providing you are able to accept our minimum order quantity of 20 pistons.
Kind regards

you could try to get a group buy together it's only 5 people, looking on their site you could have the advantage of getting them made in a high silicon alloy to eliminate the piston slap with most aftermarket pistons

Hi Winstar. I was thinking along those lines. I was also thinking of a 12:1 CR. Anybody else out their interested?

high silicon adds a new dimension
Hi Stephen,
We use 2618a as standard, anything different to this would require a separate heat treatment (and you would be looking at a minimum order quantity of 300 pistons).
Our prices for pistons out of 2618a start at £145.00 GBP each + VAT including rings, pins and clips. Our lead time at the moment is around 16 working weeks from receipt of your order.
Kind regards

I could possibly be interested. I was planning in using Z22YH pistons and rods for my rebuild but if there's a benefit in using something with a higher CR I could be talked into it...price dependant of courseHi Winstar. I was thinking along those lines. I was also thinking of a 12:1 CR. Anybody else out their interested?
