The Milton Keynes workshop has closed and he has downscaled to a small workshop at his home near Silverstone. Not Turweston. Now selling off road buggies and not a Vauxhall approved service center.

Thorney was here from the early days, when I first got my VX there was not the supercharger conversions, the TD wheels, tyres like the r1r, ITBs etc.
At the time TMS was one of the main tuners for ecu remaps, geos etc. But as they years went on and the market moved on to bring out new products and the community developing new things TMS didnt keep up and it became a backwards and forwards battle. A few broken promises, teddies out of the pram over a few issues and he washed his hands of the vx220.org community.
I think the above is the most fair way I can put it without getting into politics and getting bogged down with it all.

Nice enough guy was/is John,
Too ruthless in business to last as a 'tuner' of cars though.
Fair play to him for giving it a crack though
I hope that he and his family are not financially and emotionally suffering too much for the loss of the business (been there, done that and i've still got the teeshirt).
Good luck for the future john

Never had a problem with him personally but lost confidence in his workshop once Ian left and as a result his and his mechanics judgement in servicing my car. Moved my business to PSR 2 or 3 years back.

To give a man credit where it's due (keeping politics and personal agendas out of it). Thorney WAS .orq. He was a vx220 fan when they came out, before he even ended up becoming a tuner/garage. I believe but happy to be corrected that he effectively founded .org when it started out as a bulletin board web thing before the web was the web we know it as now. From there his passion became his business. He was one of the first mainline tuners for the VX and when I got mine 8 years ago TMS was then regarded as decent. I had my car serviced there and a stage 2 for the first 3 years of its life and had no complaints. They were good and trusted their work. Things evolved and it would seem there are things in business he could have handled better and pissed some people off in the process which ultimately tarnished his reputation. I personally had no problem with him. Like Icey I wish him happy customers.Thorney was here from the early days, when I first got my VX there was not the supercharger conversions, the TD wheels, tyres like the r1r, ITBs etc. At the time TMS was one of the main tuners for ecu remaps, geos etc. But as they years went on and the market moved on to bring out new products and the community developing new things TMS didnt keep up and it became a backwards and forwards battle. Bugger, I have both my cars serviced there. Never had a problem with their service despite the mixed opinion about them on here.
AMD it is now I guess, but a 60 mile trip ><. If the Luton branch got off the ground it would have made things easier!
Now just to find a reputable place to service the beemer.
