Okay, after 10 years it's time to pass this orange beauty VX220 onto someone else.
I've owned it from new but just haven't driven it very much (approx 15,000 miles). Probably one of the best examples in the UK! Other have said that it's the cleanest VX they've ever seen.
I've always looked after it - spending loads of time cleaning and rectifying stone chips. Basically I'm a fussy b*****d. Whenever it's had work done I've insisted it's spot-on (see below). Here's the full story:
Mandarin VX220, 2.2 NA
Less than 15,000 miles - currently showing 13,400ish (replacement speedo very early on in its life - hence variance)
Options: Mandarin pearlescent / dark blue leather / dark blue roof / mats / passenger footrest
Extras I've added: Fezzasus heater (he owed me big time!) / better headlight bulbs (not xenon conversion) / JBL speakers / Sony CD player with USB / green stuff front pads / all reworks done (rear wheels / servo pipe)
Exterior condition: Excellent - stone chips retouched (quite well - even if I say so myself), no issues with body work apart from a couple of slight scratches in the lacquer on rear deck from loading bags. Offside rear has microscopic 'kerb rash'. Blow the photos up in the gallery and have a good look!
Interior condition: Excellent - no wear to driver's seat bolster, the usual small marks to centre console
Tyres: 5mm all round (see MOT report on gallery)
Big events 1: Spent long time at VM's tech centre not long after I got it - new speedo / new driver's seat / new radiator. I kept complaining until it was right!
Big events 2: 2005 hit badger cracking front clam. The day I was taking it over to be quoted a Fiat Punto ran into the back of me tearing around the rear mesh. Because of the immaculate condition/low mileage the insurance paid-out for a new front and rear clam. So the paint match was spot-on it had a complete respray. - Certainly came in with better paint than when it sent in! Work done at 'Riverside' the VM dealer in Bedford.
Since then it's led a pampered life - always garaged. Early days serviced at VM dealer Crownhill, then found two ex-Crownhill guys - who'd also worked at VM's Tech Centre who now do everything on the car. It's lived on Mobil 1 from the first service.
Drop me a line with any queries. As you see from above...I'll be totally honest. If I'm not around Fezzasus can get hold of me!
Regards Mandarin Mart.
Top Forum bods tell me that it's worth £13k all day long - however £11,750 will see it on your driveway.
