So far I have done the usual uppgrades:

46mm Nitron trackday shocks

EP 1" anti rollbar

TD 8"-9" x 17 Wheels, toyo 888's

Fcr setup for rear brakes

300bhp dbilas turbokit, wtih extra oil cooler and upprighter valve springs

But I need some help...... I picked up my car last week at dbilas....it ran like a dream......had it round the nordschleife,and some serios "crusing" in the surounding area of adenau.....On my way home from Germany I got the coolant warning light       ... water in oil, and oil in water....  

So guess I have blown my head gasket...... So its time for a engine rebuild.......

 

Questions :- Are the eagle rods,wiseco piston combo good enough or should I go for ZRP rods and wøssner pistones.?

                   - where can i buy Neutral Balance Shafts  zzp is out of Stock.

 

Any sugestions for parts and supplyers for the engine rebuild is very helpfull

check the oil cooler first, very unlikely to be the head gasket

Then check the cylinder head hasn't cracked after removal/insertion of a spark plug.

Are you running 300 bhp on standard conrods and pistons? The limit for the conrods is usually 250-270 bhp

Neutral rods not needed, just do a full delete! No running or reliability issues this way. Might get away turbo 300bhp on std rods and pistons for road but not track. 270 max for SC not including the 30bhp to drive the SC it's self.

Tested the oil cooler With 4 bars of pressure , no leaks,did a compression test on the head all cylindes got upp to the same pressure, one of the cylinders used a little more time to build the same pressure, sparkplugs ok.  Car runs fine on idle, noe black or white smoke.... Since the oilcooler is ok, then it can't anything else than the head gasket.....

 

Then I think its time for a Complete engine rebuild: New rods,low compression pistones,lighten flywheel, New clutch,main bearings,valves cams,porting etc.

 

Any recomandations of witch parts to use in a 2.2 turbo build???

z22se engine has 9 Bar of oil pressure, so 4 Bar isn't enough to prove the oil cooler is okay.

 

I have yet to hear of a z22se head gasket failing unless the engine has been run without any coolant

Okay, will get it pressure cheked tomorrow...... the engine has not been run without coolant.

there have been many leaking oil coolers on vx220 / speedsters, but only one head gasket failure - due to no coolant

Little uppdate..

This is where it Started...

 

Some sencible uppgrades later.....TD's,Nitrons,Brakes,EP rollbar, the 300bhp Dilbert kit... Happydays at the Nurburgring

 

7 days of happiness.........   third time around..... it' hard when you don't know the turns....

 

 

 

 

until... engine failure.... 20 cm crack in the cyliderhed..... and brown guuuee every in the engien..... so back on the wagon....

 

Engine is dismanled... crank is on its way to vocky so it can start a new life in spanking new Saab engie       with compcams stg2 turbo cams,supertec valves,light flywheel,uprated competition clutch from courtenaysport, dazzled  with som vocky magic.....

 

When I get back from work in about 14 days, i will start with the Gms bodykit... pictures of progress will follow soon.....

Goal engine wise.... near 400bhp..... any thoughts regarding fuel pump....a 255 or a 450???

Nice. Very neat way to mount the bracket for the crank sensor. Impossible to fit that incorrectly.

Ideas for mounting on top of the exiting cover plate is: If you don't want to machine the Pulley, the just shim the bracket and the trigger wheel eaqually.. the triggerwheel can be andjustet 2mm each way in rotation.... It's hard to measure on the cover... but I expect You would need max 1 mm of adjustment...
