I signed up to that Mastercare Discount Card Scheme a few months ago and was duly presented with a £40 voucher - thank you Vauxhall.

Tried to use it to get a CV gaiter. Guy on the phone told me he had to refer it to "A higher authority" (odd turn of phrase - can't get the vision of him going into a confession booth for guidance). Being a Vauxhall dealer, he never returned the call.

The voucher says "Can be used against Service & Accessories". I always took accessories to mean VXR Baseball Cap or VX220 key ring or other related chavvery.

My question - has anyone managed to use these vouchers against actual parts?

Thank you.

Yes, used mine for header tank and cap no problem. It can be used for my service part as well. Loads of us on here have used it no problem.....maybe the person you spoke to is a pita? Try another vauxhall dealer and go in face to face.

They refused to take mine yesterday. Said although they are a masterfit place they would not accept it. They chose not to participate.

Used mine at Hidsons in Rainham. Had to go to the service desk to open a service job, go to parks to get the bits and back to service desk to pay the difference. 2 NA air filter, 2 NA oil filters and 2 sump washers for £42, so £2 to pay. Couldn't use it for VX specific bits like seat belt cover caps or a new roof bow support as the dealer needs to be VX220 franchised. FG Barnes did accept the voucher initially and did order the covers and roof spars but Vauxhall came back to them and said they couldn't supply the parts due to the lack of franchise, even though they were a master fit dealer. Still haven't worked out if there is a franchised dealer locally. Even the masterfit dealers don't know.

Good Evening.

I would except that you would be supplied with the list of your local franchised dealers by telephoning vauxhall customer services direct yourself. There is also a number supplied by the service club where you can contact them directly and ask them. I have talked to them and they were very knowledgeable and helpful, so perhaps that would be your best bet and first port of call.

Good luck getting your vx specific parts sorted...

Call me a grumpy old git if you like and thank you for your kind replies, but when I have to maintain a Venn diagram of who is Masterfit, who is VX approved and who is currently using the Vauxhall main dealer brain cell... Well they can go stick it.... £40? What does that buy you anyway? This may well be drink and exhaustion talking. Arse!

You're a grumpy old sh*t :P Like Mr Woo I got a header tank and two lots of coolant. After looking at the T&C's he shrugged his shoulders and was like 'er, okay...'

Spoke to the Vauxhall drivers club guy for about 20 mins after FG Barnes in Maidstone rang me and said Vauxhall have refused to deliver the parts I ordered and paid for, and that I need to come in a get a refund. Driver's club guy seemed very nice and tried to be helpful but still couldn't see why I should be having a problem at the master fit dealer I told him I went through initially, I'll ring again and see if I get someone else but at present neither the driver's club or any of the three masterfit dealers I've been to know who has a VX220 franchise. Perry's at Canterbury was but that is now part of Pomphreys or something like that so they no longer have the franchise Think I'll just get a roof bar from lotus/elise parts or something and make a seat belt cover out of carbon fibre/rubber/bolt cap or something and save the extornionate £36 for a few bits of molded plastic.

Used mine today. Header tank air filter and oil filter. Had to bung £10 in on top of the £40 voucher. Bloke behind the counter initially tried to argue it was only valid for parts and labour together. Pointed him towards the Ts and Cs and he happily accepted it. Bristol Street Motors in Northampton. Also bought 12 x 1 litre bottles of concentrated washer fluid for £10. Bargain!

Got a thermostat and ordered roof support bar with mine 2 days ago at the martin rumble in Nuneaton. They were a bit narky about it cos it means extra paperwork for them, but yes you can get parts with it. (roof support bars are on back order from the factory so currently an 8 week waiting list but as long as you use voucher to pay for it before it expires you can receive the part even after its date)

Expansion tank is always a good bet. Air filters if you are on a standard air box. sterring column joints.

-Basically bits that the VX shared with otehr cars are a good bet. oh, and oil filters too.

You can still spend them on Monday, I rang them today. I'm still struggling on what to get, any ideas? Considered just getting 5 years worth of screen wash earlier
