Anyone have a Thatcham Cat 1 or above alarm system they dont want anymore  ?

Suitable to fit a VX220.

Or anyone able to purchase one at a reduction/Trade rate  ?

Kind regards

Dan

The standard alarm is Cat1. Cat 2 is immobiliser only.

Not sure if they do them in halfords but I have a halfords trade card and get great discounts on certain things. Had 25% off some oil last week! :) And my mate had 60% off a socket set using the card. Could help you out if need be

It's seems the VX is already fitted with a thatcham rated alarm (cat1) then ! Excellent! Thanks for all the responses everyone.

Talk to Abacus car alarms if your factory alarm has issues such as wireless doorbell interference. Swapped my NA Meta unit for athe same non-VX Meta control unit and now no false alarms at all, plus it now does my central locking and can do ultrasonics, though I haven't fitted these as I don't have a hardtop. Great service from Abacus.

and can do ultrasonics,

The standard alarm already has a better and more reliable microwave sensor fixed behind the rear parcel shelf anyway. So would make little sense to downgrade to ultrasonic.

You could fit both - maybe the ultrasonics sensors would be more visible and maybe more of a deterrent to those who don't know VXs than the microwave sensor you can't see? i'm just happy my alarm isn't going off every time mine or a neighbours door bell is pressed.
