I've had my gauges sat in there boxes since Xmas so I've finally got round to having them fitted (Aem wideband/boost failsafe and an aem oil pressure gauge. I also had a shift-I fitted (need to think of somewhere else to put this but it's been put here temporally)

I've also added a few more carbon goodies and replaced the gauge pod holder with a carbon one, still a few things to do interior wise but so far I'm happy with the result :)

You've been a busy bee! You now have your worry gauges, what does the fail safe do? They are nice and clear and look pretty tasteful in the position. I personally am not a man for Carbon fibre, it's never really appealed to me but I know a lot of people like the carbon look. thumbsup That shift gauge is certainly visible! It does the equivalent of shift, Shift, SHift, SHIFT, SHHHIIIIFFFTTT. What about your humble single orange light or your ears hearing your beast scream ;)

The only problem with putting the gauges down there is that you can't see them when you're looking where you're going ... ;)

You want a Blaupunkt CD changer? It's the OEM one and it plugs into the TravelPilot.

A bit of info here about the wideband/boost failsafe
http://www.aemelectr...lsafe-gauge-84/

The standard little orange shift light on the tubby isn't bright enough and also it comes on too late. You can programme the shift-I to where you want I.e peak power.

SteveA

Does this work with any sterio or only the original? I like the idea of a cd changer as I still like to use cd's

You might not want to cut the binnacle but out the top of it is a good place for a shite-I.  Ask Darcini nicely and he may post up a pic of his.

I did consider pulling the guts out of one and fitting the LEDs into the front edge of the binnacle with tinted resin.  This way they wouldn't even show unless lit.  Steering wheel obscures that bit so the idea was junked!  The other option is like Jimmy's done with it out the top of the column cover.

Thanks,Oh there's been plenty of driving Rick ;) FLD Just had a look at Darcini's he's looks good but its blended in to his binnacle which I can't do with me having a cf binnacle. Think the only other place I could put it is on top of the binnacle but drill an hole which I don't really fancy doing :(

Your interior looks very posh. I love gauges. I think I could really use one of those shift LED doofers. I'll research that but what does the shift-I thing get its signal from?

Well, you've explained a question for me, the ali surround. I want one!  The whole thing looks great & very tasteful.  As for advice on the ICE you haven't asked for but it was spotted it's still the OEM; brought up a comment recommending something really good. Being a tight arse Yorkshireman & someone that was willing to pay 200 notes an a DAB radio, my better half used the common sense approach,"What the hell do you want to pay over 200 quid for somat your planning to use half of the year"? So I purchased a great bargain; SD card/USB socket, AUX & bluetooth not a CD to bang about in the VX & to top it all you still can't chuffin hear it when your driving.  If you see a gear selector surround give me a PM. speak Sunday.

Thanks for the nice comments :)

I can't remember the exact place where I got it from now but you can get them from here
http://www.squaredea...sing-1301-p.asp

Sorry Steve can't help with the "signal" as I didn't fit it but there's some more info here, think there pretty straight forward to fit though

Hope that helps
